Anyone ever did this tour?

We did the dolphin encounter at Costa maya 2 years ago, and then did the Cozumel chankanaab park last year. The Coz one was really a lot better. We had more interaction with the dolphins at Coz, plus the water was a lot cleaner.

 

At Cozumel, the pen is just part of the ocean sectioned off by piers and fencing. At Costa maya, it is a pen next to the ocean, that water transfers out of, but it smells like it gets a little stagnant.

When a friend wanted to do a dolphin encounter on a cruise with Cozumel and Costa Maya, we asked the same question and got a response very similar to Sparkinator's above. The other poster mentioned how small and pathetic looking the enclosure for the dolphins was in Costa Maya and a year later, I remember how much I agreed with that statement. The ladies on our group had a great time with the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel. While I'm not a big PETA or Green type, I couldn't use the Costa Maya excursion in good conscious.
