Any Problem with Riviera Connecting Cabins?

Our travel agent booked us a cabin today on Riviera exactly where I like, mid-ships. However, when I looked up the deck plans, I saw that it is a connecting cabin.

Has anyone had any problems with a connecting cabin, particularly with noise from next door?

Also, will our cabin still have the same furnishings?

Thanks for any and all advice.

I gather you don't want to connect to the other side, you just have a connecting cabin.

I can't speak for Riviera, but on the "R" ships we never heard problems hearing our neighbors (except for an occasional flushing toilet) and I don't see why a connecting cabin would be any worse.

I've quoted before that when we were on the NCL DREAM (the ship is now with another line) we were in a mini-suite and our neighbors had guests in for cocktails every night and we could hear every word they said.

But we never encountered that problem on the "R" ships and not on Marina (although our one cruise on Marina was in a VS so it probably doesn't count).

I think the only difference in the cabins will be that there is a door that can be opened, but only if both sides *want* to open it. The furnishings should be the same.

There are a fair number of cabins on all the ships that can be connected, but it seems to me that most people do not opt to do so.

You will have your privacy and I am sure your quiet as well.

But it IS a question worth asking.

On the O class ships there is nothing along the wall where I am guessing the connecting door is

not like on the R-ships where the closets were along the wall at the entry way

I do not think you will be missing any furniture :)

Cannot address the noise question

Don't leave us in suspense, young lady-

Where did you go?

Just one cabin back smack mid-ships with those lovely oceanview ceiling to floor windows.

Why don't you and Stan join us on this cruise? It has a lovely itinerary.
