lancashire_cruisers Posted February 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2013 Hi I'm hoping that someone will know the answer to this. After more cruises with P&O than I care to think about, we're thinking of booking a cruise on Indy but can't decide on which cabin to book. We're looking at either an inside cabin or a E1 balcony ans which one we go for is dependent on how much outside deck space there is on Indy. We're not sun worshippers but like to be outdoors in a shady spot preferably in a comfy chair, rather than a lounger. Is this possible on Indy at the height of summer or would we be better booking a balcony so we can guarantee our outside space? Thanks in advance LC :)
zap99 Posted February 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2013 We were on Indy on the Italian Med in 2011 and am going again at the end of June on the Spanish Med. There is plenty of deck space, but obviously the best ( sunny ?) spots are bagged first. Lots of shady spots. We had a balcony and it's wonderfull watching the Dolphins and Pilot whales once you get to about Gibraltar. Different strokes for different folks and all that, but in our view well woth that bit extra.

Thanks in advance LC :) Indy does have a full shaded outside promenade on deck 4. One side is non-smoking. Can't speak as to how comfortable the chairs are. There is also the Solarium which is more sheltered, and has cushioned chairs.

Our experience of some of the P&O ships is that there just isn't enough outdoor space for the passengers onboard, especially in the good weather.
