NavarreCruiser Posted March 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2013 We sail with Carnival a lot and have been shareholders for years. Carnival's shareholder's program expires every July 31st. In the past it has always been extended to next July 31st by this time of the year. I am just wondering if Carnival may just let it expire this time. golfadj Posted March 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2013 Why would you think they would do that?
NavarreCruiser Posted March 3, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted March 3, 2013 Because this is the first time that in March it has not been extended to the next year.
Crusing from Colorado Posted March 3, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2013 Hmm I believe that it is still March? Friday was the 1st. I think you should wait until at least the end of March before you become concerned. Just my 2 cents worth.
careycouponer Posted March 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2013 I hope not since I've not gotten to use mine yet. But we'll just have to wait and see!

lynnw68 Posted March 12, 2013 #11 Share Posted March 12, 2013 Just got an email with Carnival's annual report today, they have extended the benefit to July 31st, 2014. The benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2014 aboard the brands listed below. Certain restrictions apply. Applications to receive these benefits should be made at least two weeks prior to cruise departure date. This benefit is available to shareholders holding a minimum of 100 shares of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc. Employees, travel agents cruising at travel agent rates, tour conductors or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer. This benefit is not transferable and cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account. Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom. Reservations must be made by February 28, 2014.

ooulio Posted March 13, 2013 #13 Share Posted March 13, 2013 They are not going to take it away. Everyone would dump it. I would do the same. I bought it also for the credits. It is bad enough they took away the obc's now. They won't even let the travel agents give them anymore. Not happy about that one.
Colorado Kat Posted March 13, 2013 #14 Share Posted March 13, 2013 How much credit do they give to owners of 100 shares of stock?
Rare ontheweb Posted March 14, 2013 #15 Share Posted March 14, 2013 How much credit do they give to owners of 100 shares of stock? In the past, we received a $100 credit on a Princess 7 day cruise. We are scheduled to recieve a $50 credit this summer on a 6 day Carnival cruise. I don't know if there is a larger credit for a longer cruise. CupKayke Posted March 14, 2013 #16 Share Posted March 14, 2013 It's $250 for anything over 14 days. Those doing the Legend Transatlantic in September will be happy! http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit

lake_wannabees Posted March 14, 2013 #18 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Does anyone have a consistent way of getting the credit? I notified my TA when I booked a cruise in Jan but it wasn't applied. I have three booked in Aug-Sep and want to make sure it doesn't get forgotten then also. Joyce

Joyce This has worked for me every time...and this is copied from another user here on CC a couple of years ago! ;) I used to fax it over, but recently I sent it in by email to guestadmin@carnival.com A letter explaining my request and included all the details of the cruise, including my past guest number, the Booking #, Guest Last Name, Ship, # of Guests, Stateroom, and Sail Date. I scanned in and attached a copy of my brokerage statement. I got a reply within a week with it all done. If you don't have a scanner, I would simply fax your request with all the above information. You will still get an email confirmation. I've never, ever had a problem getting my credit.

skiorcruise Posted March 14, 2013 #23 Share Posted March 14, 2013 I have always mailed my request, including a broker statement. The statement has everything but the Carnival info and my name blacked out. I have never had a problem. I always carry a copy of the same statement on my cruise, but have never needed to take it to the purser's desk. There is generally a notice in the cabin on the second night of the credit, sometimes on the first night. I have never checked the on-board statement the first night to see if the credit shows up, but it is always there the second night.

I'm really surprised that you got it done by e-mail, as they have stated to me that they no longer will accept the applications for the OBC by e-mail. I've "snail-mailed" it in with no problems, and have faxed it in as well, but as noted, had to do it twice when I faxed it. Also, Princess has stopped taking the information via e-mail as well. I guess it was too easy that way. (Actually, it'd be a lot easier for someone to scam your information off an e-mail request, than if you did it by fax, or snail-mail.) ;) "SKY"
