cruisetrail Posted March 7, 2013 Author #31 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Signature Class vs Vista Class - Major Differences The newest Signature Class ships (the Eurodam and the Nieuw Amsterdam) have a larger aft pool deck and a new superstructure midships that includes Tamarind specialty restaurant, serene Silk Den lounge and a spacious sun deck. The front part of the superstructure has one more deck of cabins and a separate area with private cabanas. Front looking cabins took place of the former observation deck. A new obseravation deck has been built on the bow section. Lifeboats arragements have changed slightly (two more lifeboats). The open part of the promenade deck is now a little longer. Four cabins on deck 4 (adjacent to lifeboats) now have huge open baconies. Signature Class ships have taller (more impressive) funnels. All designs are based on the same platform - Vista Class. Examle: Nieuw Amsterdam (Signature Class) vs Zuiderdam (Vista Class)

cruisetrail Posted March 8, 2013 Author #33 Share Posted March 8, 2013 MS Eurodam Interiors The Atrium on the Eurodam is small. There is no soaring internal space with panoramic elevators as one would find on many other ships. However, we need to understand the idea of Eurodam's designers. This is a ship of open spaces. The panoramic elevators do exist on the Eurodam but they are turned outward (external elevators) so that we can enjoy sea views. The Eurodam is not only a ship of open spaces. She is also a ship of flowers. So the focal point of the Atrium is a chandelier that is actually an abstract sculpture made of "flowers"... wandb Posted March 8, 2013 #35 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks for the review, and the picture. We sail on Sept. 22 and I can hardly wait! Must say that I was disappointed to hear of the entertainment. One of the things we love about HAL has been the entertainment. We love the Broadway type shows and were so looking forward to that. However, we will be cruising---and that will be entertainment enough!:)
