It's complicated, need help!

Traveling on the Glory with my best friend in November and the whole thing is very complicated. We wanted to have a few days at the end of the cruise on the beach so we are booking 1 night pre-cruise and 2 nights at the end. The problem is transportation. She flies in to Fort Lauderdale, I fly into Miami. We want to meet up at the hotel so we both need shuttles from each airport, get shuttled to the ship at POM, the shuttled to the hotel again and back to respective airports. I cannot see an inexpensive solution for this. Any ideas will be so welcome, would it be cheaper to do a car? Just not sure which way to go. I will be using Marriott points and gift cards so I am planning on Marriott hotel choice on the beach so the picking are slim. Has anyone ever run into this and is there another board where I should post this?

You could always, if the flight arrival times work, rent a car and go pick her up. Then return this rental just before you get on the ship. Then perhaps rent a car afterwards as well.

If you read down the board, you will see, within Miami (and within Ft Lauderdale), taxis are the easiest way around.

Between FLL and MIA, shuttles are the way to go.

Stay in Miami Beach - about a $30+ cab ride for you depending upon where your hotel is located (farther north from SB = higher cab fare :(). Your friend can shuttle to your Miami Beach hotel with either QLS, Go Airport Shuttle or some other shuttle companies for $30+.

Cab from your Miami Beach hotel to POM and enjoy your cruise. Post cruise you can cab back to your Miami Beach hotel -- then 2 days later you can cab to MIA and your friend can shuttle to FLL.

You could rent a car and pick your friend up, but what she saves in shuttle fees you will pay in hotel parking fees. :(

Good luck! :)
