snorkeling??

Where would you recommend snorkeling at Nassau,CocoCay or Key West?

On Coco Cay, there is a reef to the left of where the lifeguard towers are located. You have to swim out between the rocks, and the current can be stronger there, but there is much more to see. Sometimes the current is so strong that the lifeguards will stop you from going out there.

do any of you know if you bring your own snorkel gear to CocoCay do you still have to pay or can you just venture out there??

 

We bring our own gear, and you do not have to pay any extra. Just head in to the water, and enjoy!:)

Actually, you are required to rent a snorkel vest at Coco Cay even if you have your own mask and fins, but it only costs about $6.

 

If you can make it out to the lightguard stands, the fish are amazing. So many, they were just bumping into us. There are some sunken cannons and an airplane too. Here are a few pictures:
