cruisin_cutie216 Posted March 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2013 A good way that we saved money on BINGO is we went to some onboard events and free BINGO cards were given away. When we played about a week ago, we got I think six cards or so for 35 dollars. They had a bingo machine you could rent that would play 30 cards at a time and would alert you if you were one away or if you had a BINGO. These rented for about 55 dollars a piece I believe. Sometimes RCI offers a critter of some sort that you purchase and when you purchase the plush you get like 6 Bingo cards in addition. Not sure how much these were going for but I only saw a handful of people with them.

Moonlitherial Posted March 15, 2013 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2013 My mother has been a bingo addict forever and I never really got it but now I'm completely confused - a machine that plays for you?
StarSong2001 Posted March 15, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 15, 2013 My mother has been a bingo addict forever and I never really got it but now I'm completely confused - a machine that plays for you? Exactly. You just sit there. The numbers called are entered into some machine that is wirelessly connected somehow to your machine. Your only job is to yell Bingo. Might improve your chances because more 'cards' can be played by the machine than you could have kept up with manually. But I don't see the fun in it. Ringo BINGO the RC BINGO Mascot A Seal I Purchased on Brillance (sp?) in Jan 2008 During a Bingo session Cost Around $12.00 USD. I WON a Second Ringo BINGO aboard Oasis 2010. Ned11 Posted March 15, 2013 #13 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I am assuming that the bingo on the ships are the same as what I used to play here in the UK. I have always fancied it but didn't know if it was the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

imnocleaver Posted March 15, 2013 #19 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I can't believe I am about to admit this, but I am now terribly intimidated at the prospect of playing bingo on board. For reference, the last time I played bingo was in the '70s, and cards were so solid you could kill someone with them. You slid little plastic pieces over to cover the numbers that were called out. Jump forward a couple of decades, and I worked part time at a "not-for-profit" bingo hall which used disposable paper cards/strips and giant "daubers" with which to mark them. (On a side note, you have not truly lived until you have walked around a smoke-filled room yelling "ONE DOLLAR STRIPS!" at the top of your lungs. ) This job did not last long. This sums up my limited exposure to the world of bingo. And now I find out some people use machines! In the event I finally decide to play on my next trip, could someone explain to me, as you would to a child, how the whole bingo process works now? (Please note that I DO understand how the letters/numbers called out correspond to what is on my card, and that we are not playing a group game of Battleship :D.) Well there are STILL paper cards 6 per-game ea. game has a different Colour, these cards have perferations so you can puch out the number called. HOWEVER DO NOT Tear out the the TAB caused punching OUT the called number, THIS WILL VOID YOUR GAME CARDS. The Electronic Machines 30 cards per-game, the machine will only show you best cards you change card view from 1 to 6 at a time if Memory serves correctly. The machine will also show how many numbers have been called, how many you are away from a win, it will BEEP when you are 1 AWAY From BINGO if You Have BINGO it will play a tune & WINNER will show up on the screen with a Fireworks effect. For Paper & Machine Stand up when you are 1 away from BINGO Remember to Call Out BINGO when you WIN :D Hopes This Hepls
jamscckmc Posted March 16, 2013 #21 Share Posted March 16, 2013 Sit up front and jump up when they ask for a volunteer to heck the balls, you get a free DOD. Sometimes they will give you a code word for the next Bingo session for a free card for the last game. Sometimes they give out free Bingo T****s that give you a free card. If there is two or three of you sometimes they have a three machines for the price of two. There is usually a win a cruise bingo and of course the the last session jackpot both of which are much more crowded.
baldilocks Posted March 16, 2013 #22 Share Posted March 16, 2013 We are not bingo players, but the bingo game ran over into the time slot for a Q&A from the RCI staff. The guy in front of us had one number to get to bingo. He sat through at least ten number calls....and then another person yelled bingo and won over $5000. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do CPR for the poor fellow in front of me. BUMMER!
