jeno Posted March 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I have cruised on several cruise lines and most have several to many Mah Jongg sets on board for passengers to use. Celebrity seems to have a couple of sets or none. Does anyone know if there are any (American) Mah Jongg sets on the Eclipse, and if so, where they are located. I am going on a TA and would rather not have to carry one with me as they are very heavy. Thanks for help with this matter!
mobiz Posted March 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Yes, Eclipse has 3 or 4 Mah Jongg sets.
jeno Posted March 17, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Thank you! Do you know if they are in a cabinet in the card room, behind the pursers desk, or in the library? Would help to know where to start to look. Thanks for your response.
KeywestK Posted March 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I was on Eclipse last month and there were several MJ sets in the Card Room. They were stacked up on the floor adjacent the the cabinet. However, I don't know if they were complete.
streetspirit Posted March 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2013 When the wife and I were last on the Eclipse the Scrabble sets were always missing letters etc. I think we'll being bringing on own set with us next time.
skandls Posted March 17, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Many ships have mahj sets - often they are not complete. If there are several on board you maybe able to make a complete set by combining them. I like the mixing of tiles but if you want to make sure you can play - look into buying a deck of mahj cards as a backup.
cruisegirl1 Posted March 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I bought a set of mah jongg playing cards. Each card is the same size as a standard playing card but the set contains all the numbers, suits, winds, etc of a full tile mah jongg set. Naturally they are MUCH easier for travel. They are a bit cumbersome at first but really great if you want to play and don’t have a set. Good luck M
