Hey, does anybody know when the 2014/15 brochures will be out?

The actual brochures: possibly later this month, possibly not until into April.

The details: they'll be available on TA websites any day now. There are already some details around: have a look at the 'p&o 2014 cruises to venice' thread a bit further down the page.

I looked at the brochure: Ventura's Med Fly cruise option:

7 night from £499 add £250 for flights

14 nights from £999 add £250 for flights.

Am really pleased with the new itineraries for next year - thanks for listening P&O ! We last cruised with them on Oceana in 2010 and loved the whole experience, but have never found a cruise that got our attention mid August until now, and have cruised on the Celebrity Silhouette. Though we love that ship and have had some fabulous holidays we don't think the food is as good as P&O and missed the 'tradition' (if that makes sense)

We were really hoping that there would be something special for us from Southampton next year and have seen the Azura 17 night cruise to Greece. Just what we wanted.

We're very excited and looking forward to getting to know everyone on this board over the next 12 months or so as we make decisions about cabins etc etc.

:D:D:D

PS First question - do they still have the band on the quay side at Southampton ;)

From the brochure

Apparently they are removing the smart-jacket required code from Oceana reverting to what it was last year.

Arcadias refit includes new cabins on the sun deck aft of the Crows Nest, not in the electra/casino area as reported.

A price enquiry to P&O this morning elicited the information that the Flights & Transfers package to/from Manchester for the Ventura fly cruises will be £300 per person.

£300 each is what I was quoted by TA too. Was looking at Ventura for Easter 2014 but I am not paying that for flights (especially given it is a trek to Gatwick for us), and I am not booking without having a sense of availability of low cost carrier's availability on flights for Savona and Venice from closer aiports (schedules for next year mostly not out yet). If it was from Barcelona I might have been tempted as I know there are dozens of flights each day from Stansted or Luton.

I also enquired about the Ventura Xmas cruise and have been told no child discounts for next year so I won't be booking.

For the first year in a while I am not going to be registering for any cruises for next year. I have come to the realisation in the last couple of years that may as well hold off as prices seem to come down even for Easter and other school holidays closer to the time. We have just picked up a good deal on Independence for May half term this year.

If I was going to do a Ventura fly-cruise in 2014 I think I'd fly into Savona rather than Venice - doing the latter means you miss most of a day in Venice, I think. But what is the nearest airport to Savona? Milan? Nice? I know that for our first cruise (MSC, out of Genoa ;)) we were flown into Milan Malpensa and then bussed to Genoa. The drive through the Ligurian Alps was dramatic - possibly the most memorable part of the cruise - but it was two-hour trip. So I was thinking that if we did a cruise from Savona we'd probably use the P&O flights & transfers.

Not any more unfortunately

Brian

:( Not the best start I suppose ! What a shame -

Any idea where I can get the best info re cabins on the Azura. I know that Celebrity board has a specific thread about cabins. Thanks

Have you noticed that Getaway passengers don't get free shuttles from P&O?

Nor, apparently, choice of dining time - Dai talked that one up by claiming they didn't offer that in 2012/13.

So, I won't book a Vantage Fare, and now I won't book a Getaway - what to do?

I know, I'll book last minute with one of the other companies sailing out of the UK. Brilliant move, Carnival.

If you are doing the 7 nighter you have to fly into one of the airports and out of the other according to the TA. I think if you do 14 nights you go to and from same airport. When we sailed with MSC we chose to go from Barcelona as its so easy to get flights and to get to the port.
