DrD Posted April 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Hi, as promised I'm posting some pics from my cruise. I'll try not to post the same old same old. Here's the original review: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1823188 We were impressed with some of the art work/collections on the landings of stairs. Another reason to avoid elevators! Here are 2 samples. I'm sure I didn't see them all. I forgot to take pic of our favorite, a gemstone collection (son is a bit of a rockhound.) Other nice arts /models that caught my eye:
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Some more: People often ask about balcony dividers: here's ours open. it was no problem to get it opened, steward did it right away.
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Culinary art was also nice.
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Nellie's beach cabana.
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted April 12, 2013 There's actually a small breakfast every day at Sorrento's: I loved that one could get the night's menus in full on the interactive screens. Very easy to check when walking by!
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted April 12, 2013 This is a panorama with iphone. Kind of neat I think. Here's the top deck on last sea day, not crowded at all! it was pretty windy though. More random decorations, there was a greeter at the Windjammer who was a hoot, he wore funny hats and glasses and joked with everyone. He made this display one day. DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted April 12, 2013 On the last day they had a FreedomFest in the Royal Promenade with displays of culinary art, napkin and towel folding, demos, and of course food.
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Now we often chat very nicely about dress codes in MDR. I'd like to settle the discussion (yeah right!) simply by asking you to look at this picture and decide how you think you should dress:
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted April 12, 2013 A few more pics I can't well categorize from around the ship:
DrD Posted April 12, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Kid's area The boys loved this the first day but then mostly stayed in family pool (main pool) area. Now I usually avoid posting pictures of my family but I can't resist posting this one: Anyway that's it for now. I have a lot more and may post some as the mood strikes. We loved the FOS and would highly recommend. We've been on 11 cruises so we know what we're talking about! Gorgeous ship, great food, fantastic crew. What more can you ask for? copnlpn2 Posted April 12, 2013 #16 Share Posted April 12, 2013 DrD - I've been on the Freedom a few times:) but there has never been a breakfast offering at Sorrento's! Would you think this is something unique to your cruise or something that will take place on future cruises too (such as on my upcoming FOS cruise in September!)??? I'm glad you posted the assortment of pix you did. I have hundreds of pix of the artwork featured on landings and in the passageways of every ship I've cruised on. And even more pix of out-of-the way paintings, mosaics, statues, etc., from places I found while checking out the ships in the early morning or late night hours. I'm so glad you appreciated the artwork as much as I did! In case folks don't know, there is literally millions of dollars of artwork on every RCCL ship! Take time to check it out...you're sure to be impressed!
amc40 Posted April 12, 2013 #17 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Breakfast at Sorrento's....that is awesome! Our cabin is 3 floors above it. Do they offer lunch on the first day? Great review, thank you. We sail on Sunday, wish I booked a cabana!
