DaytonGirl Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2013 If you had to choose between the two which one would you pick? Why? The two tours are at the same time so I can only pick one. I'm travelling solo so I'm not up for a DIY thing. Sometimes the ship's excursion is just easier.
cberge Posted April 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2013 St. Paul de Vence. No why..I just love that place and have been there many times.
Loonbeam Posted April 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Where are you docking? If Cannes, I would say St. Paul, if Monte Carlo, Eze. Mainly because the shorter travel time would leave more exploration time in the port area. Have not been to Eze yet, but St Paul was lovely, it is very shopping and tourist oriented tho. DaytonGirl Posted April 17, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 17, 2013 We will be docking in Nice. Both tours seem as though they are they same amount of time. cberge - just loving a place is a good enough why for me. :)

I have to agree - St. Paul de Vence is just so quaint. Make sure you get Gelato from the shop at the top of the town - so good!
seabreezer Posted April 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2013 St Paul de Vence seems to be more of a real town while Eze reminded me of Disneyland...too perfect and touristy.
elaine5 Posted April 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Eze seemed much smaller--we were pretty much done looking around after 45 minutes. I liked both, but I would pick St P.
ncgolferette Posted April 22, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 22, 2013 St. Paul by a long shot
Bet & Peg Posted April 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2013 I also "vote" for St. Paul de Vence - we spent about 5 wonderful hours there! (post-cruise land trip) It's a fabulous artist community with some wonderful shops - bought great oil there! We were in Eze in 2008 for about an hour - small, nice but much harder to get around! For a few photos of St Paul - fast forward the slide show below to 11 minutes. Provence Slideshow
Dr. Pam Posted June 16, 2013 #10 Share Posted June 16, 2013 My Vote for St. Paul de Vence. Touristy but utterly charming. Loved it more than Eze!
Rare marazul Posted June 16, 2013 #11 Share Posted June 16, 2013 St Paul de Vence. Hopefully, your tour includes a visit to the Fondation Maeght museum (driveway almost across the road from the entrance to St Paul). It has a spectacular collection of impressionist artists in a wonderful modern building with great views.

Not impressionists, but modern artists - Chagall, Picasso, Giacometti, Miro, etc.
Rare Hlitner Posted June 16, 2013 #13 Share Posted June 16, 2013 IMHO its not even close. St Paul de Vence is one of our favorite places in the south of France. Eze is nice, but not in the same class. Hank
