Jim_Iain - B2B Sydney - Honolulu - Vancouver
ncgolferette replied to Jim_Iain's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Jim I cruised Oceania last summer - Tokyo to San Francisco. Prince Rupert was one of the ports home. O offers a boat excursion to a wilderness area which is a refuge for the Kodiak bears. It was an absolutely amazing experience and if you get the chance I would highly recommend it. It will probably be crazy because the salmon should still be running. The excursion fills up fast. In ketchikan O uses a dock that NCL has built away from the town and provides a shuttle. The shuttle drops you off in the northern part of town still a walk . Know you are a walker but thought I would still mention this to you. -

No the photo I saw was for the laundry room. There is one on every deck forward. Don’t think O would put washer/dryers in the concierge lounge. -

Hank really enjoying reading about your travels on the Vista. I just booked cabin 8032 for several segments on the 2026 world cruise. My cabin is directly across from the laundry. I found a photo where there appears to be a lounge in the area before the washer/dryers. Have you noticed such in your walk abouts? I’m actually thinking being so close to the laundry on a 50 day tropical cruise might be a good idea. -
Is the current sale real? and shared dining

Solo cruiser leaving Celebrity after my cruise on the Equinox later this month. Apart from the solo surcharge for a regular cabin, the solo cabins are a joke for a 12 night voyage to the Arctic. -
I’ll be on the Equinox in a couple of weeks and plan to make a FCD on a cruise. But - what cruise fare do I receive with the booking? The non refundable fare, which is considerably lower, or will the cruise fare be the refundable type which is considerably higher. Inquiring minds would like to know.

Thanks for the photo. Just hope the ride isn’t too bumpy. -

Thanks for the good news. I have 7118 on the Apex booked for Norway. -
There is absolutely no storage in the solo cabins. Might work for a seven night Caribbean cruise. No way for a 12 night cruise to Norway and the North Cape.

infinite veranda, does anyone like these things?
ncgolferette replied to sunsetme's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I booked a DPV for Norway and the North Cape. Couldn’t see lowering a window and then freezing in the cabin. -
I, too, sent a question regarding the ghastly surcharge for solo cruisers. Hopefully, since Celebrity is rethinking the policy of the retreat team for SS, they will rethink the surcharge for solo cruisers.

Trying to decide between an infinite veranda or porthole balcony for Norway. Have positives and negatives in my mind for both. My question - does Celebrity keep the glass on the infinite windows clean all the time? Worse thing would be a dirty window. -
Scandinavia and Norwegian Fjords in June - Thoughts

I think the June5 sailing on the Apex is the only cruise for 2025 that goes to both Flam and Geiranger. -

Retreat Privilege Package - New Guiding Document

Does anyone know if a drink package comes with Retreat Privilege Package? Since the daily fee is now $199 pp I’m assuming drinks are included along the way. -
Retreat Privilege Package - New Guiding Document

I checked today. The price is now $199 pp per day. The price changed around the end of December. Evidently 7 slots per ship per cruise. -
I prefer not to be a sucker for Celebrity’s greed. There are other and better choices out there for me

I am truly disheartened that Celebrity has initiated this policy regarding solo cruisers. Just this past week I received an email from Celebrity advertising that the third and fourth passenger in a cabin cruises free on certain cruises. This was applicable for a cruise on the Apex next June that I have interest in. The solo fare still remains more than double. Go figure.
-
Just checked a cruise I’m interested in on the Apex for June 2025. The overcharge is still there for solos. However, the third and fourth person in a cabin cruises for free. This is another promo Celebrity is advertising. I got the information via an email.
-
Geez. Celebrity is giving free cruises to the third and fourth person in a cabin and a solo cruiser is getting whacked with a penalty for booking a solo cabin. Celebrity must be desperate for people to spend, spend, spend onboard. I think their nickel and diming is going to get worse to make up for all the freebies onboard. Realize this doesn’t apply to all cruisers but it is still disheartening to those solo cruisers.
-
Couldn’t this policy regarding solo cruisers be considered some form of discrimination against a certain population group? Namely, widows, widowers, and others that have lost a life partner.
-
I will not be booking anymore cruises on Celebrity until they remove the penalty for being a solo (widow) cruiser. As far as I am concerned, shame on them.
-
I sure hope so!

Yesterday I wanted to apply a $250 OBC from a previous reservation that I canceled to a new reservation. On hold for 45 minutes with an individual that had no idea what I was talking about. He put me on hold again and never came back on line. Another agent picked up my call and got the credit applied within two minutes to my new booking.

Pre-Purchase Massage Now or wait till Onboard
ncgolferette replied to LaCal's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Generally the spas offer a discount onboard when you book three massages. 10% off the first, 20% off the second and 30% off the third. I have never been able get these discounts booking treatments online. Doesn’t matter if it is a port day or sea day.
