What is the difference between a BB and BC balcony? Thanks for your help.

The deck, BB cabins are mostly on the 10th deck and BC are on 8 and 9th decks.

Like everyone else said location and price. Usually upper decks are considered better than lower ones - this holds true for all cabin types - balcony, oceanview, and inside.

And in terms of location, it's not just upper decks versus lower decks, it's also location on the same deck, with midship locations considered more desirable (in terms of pricing).

Ironically, my wife and I prefer the lower level decks, 8 or 9... we found once you hit 10 it started to get more noticeably rocky at night. So we're glad it's cheaper lower :)

BA balconies are mid-ship, which is supposed to be a preferable location than lower balcony categories (of course, that's all subjective to the individual cruiser!) On the Jewel, BA balconies are on decks 9 and 10, and BBs are only on deck 10.

Also some of the balconies that are all the way forward are hull balconies; other balconies are not as enclosed. If you look at a photo of Jewel you will see what I mean. The forward balconies have a sideways oval cutout, but balconies farther back are more open.

Note I had booked a balcony guarantee cabin and got the very forward one assigned to me.
