hotel question for Seattle

I you were driving to Seattle and wanted to stay overnight the first night before the cruise, what hotel would you choose. We need a place to park the car while we are on the cruise. Thank you.

I can't help with the hotel, but just want to say that you are wise to seek off port parking. We cruised out of Seattle last year and were surprised that the daily rate at the port was $26.

The Sheraton charged $40/night when we stayed there two years ago, yikes! Considering we'd booked through Hotwire and paid only $80/night, the price seemed even more shocking.

On our Alaska cruise, we stayed at the Green Turtle Hostel right next to the Fulton Fish Market. Super cheap compared to any hotel -- and walking distance to the ship. But we did not have a car, so that could bring price up.

Holiday Inn Express City Center. I don't know how much parking is but it is a good location and they have a shuttle to the pier.

I've stayed at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue. They also charge $40 for parking for a one night stay and have a package that includes the first night!! They have a cruise package that includes transfer to pier but that doesn't appear to include parking or return pick up. May be worth dropping them an email.
