AOS Southern B - which side has views?

Recommended Posts

HI there - we will be cruising AOS out of San Juan on the B itinerary.

I am wondering which side of ship to book to get the island views as you pull into port?

Thanks,

most times the ship will do a twirl so do not pull straight in, so they head straight out to sea when departing but sometimes for various reasons they do not so you just take your choice.

The ship does not consistently dock the same way each time. It depends on many factors, such as tides, other ships in the port, wind, lifeboat drills, scheduled maintenance, etc.

Also forgot to say that if another cruise ship berths opposite you, which can happen in some ports you will have no view at all, well nothing pretty.

Here's a site that you can check if there are any other ships in port with you:

http://www.cruisetimetables.com/

Go to the "Port Departures" - select the port you are leaving from.............then select the departure date.........then select your ship..........click on the various itinerary ports and it will display all of the ships in that particular port on that day.

Even if you're not facing the dock, there are "views" on all sides of the ship! You'll be in a harbor...not facing out to sea! Plenty to see, and more privacy on the side away from the dock! No workers staring up at you when you're on your balcony.
