New to Carnival...a few dining questions.

We have previously been on only two cruises prior to this and both were Disney. They have a rotation system that puts you in each of their 3 dining rooms on different nights with different themes. From what i gather, Carnival is different. Are you in the same dining room with the same menu (as the other rooms) each night? Do they have themed nights? When are the formal nights? Are there sample menus anywhere?

Also is there a schedule somewhere of what time the evening shows are?

Thanks!

There are 2 dining rooms on Carnival, both with the same menu.

Not usually any themed nights.

Carnival no longer has formal nights but now calls them elegant nights.

They ask that guys wear at minimum long pants and a collared shirt.

There are usually 3 production shows per week on Carnival. The rest of the nights they use the passengers to entertain.ie: The Hasbro game, Karaoke, etc.

Have a great trip.:)

The Fun Times will be delivered each night which is the schedule for the following day. Everything is listed with times. You may want to use a highlighter! You can rip off the right side and only carry the part with just times and activities. We also bring this along (front part) when ashore just in case we need the number for the port agent.

When you booked, you had a choice of early, late or anytime dining. Not sure which you have.....The menu is posted outside the dining room entrance. You can search this forum for sample menus, they are around.

Have a great cruise. :)

Same menu in both dining rooms. Either assigned dining time (6:00pm or 8:15pm) or Your Time Dining (5:45 - 9:30) usually assigned to the forward dining room lower level. Cruise elegant nights vary but generally speaking they are the 1st sea day on all cruise and another day closer to the end of the cruise on cruises of longer than 5 days. No theme dinners, but the waitstaff will perform a song and/or dance usually around 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Some ships have steakhouses and Italian restaurants by reservation for an additional charge. The evening shows are listed in the Fun Times that your cabin steward will leave in your cabin the evening before. Sample menus can be viewed on Carnival's website. Another good source for all things menu is ten.resiurcocedyz backwards.Enjoy!

New playlist entertainment is not out on all ships. Also, LEgend, Miracle and Pride only have one dining room.

Op, Bill is correct about formal nights (Carnival calls them Casual elegance, I think anyways), however many still dress on these two nights.

One minor correction: they're elegant or cruise elegant nights. Casual isn't part of the title. They're casual enough without that! LOL.

Some ships (Spirit class) only have 1 dining room, but there are 2 floors.

Since we don't know what cruise you are taking we can't help with the exact days of the elegant nights. There is 1 elegant night per 3-5 day cruises and 2 elegant nights on 7+ day cruises.
