IPlayWithString Posted May 25, 2013 #51 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Another vote for afternoon tea in the piano bar only held on sea days. Also love the made to order omelets in the morning on lido deck. The Fascination is one of my favorite ships. Enjoy!!!:) DH and DS both adore eggs...so I may send them up there for breakfast. :D
javamom Posted May 25, 2013 #52 Share Posted May 25, 2013 That sounds awesome then. I'm a Texan and we adore good salsa round here. I'm trying REALLY hard not to work myself into a state--I'm so excited/nervous/anxious about our upcoming cruise since we've never done this before. It was kind of a last minute decision. DH swears that I will not: A. Be the fattest woman on the ship (You won't be - but what if you are?) B. fall over board - (You WON'T) :-) C. get lost..on the ship (I'm famous for getting lost just about anywhere, including my own home and my son's school where I volunteer at least 2 days a week)(If you do, you can't be too lost - it's a ship, you're contained. Fascination is a GREAT first ship. Very easy to navigate.) :D Have fun!
Georgiagolfer Posted May 25, 2013 #53 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Also, I forgot about the grill on lido. It has the best homemade tortilla chips for the salsa/pico! I agree about the tortilla chips. The salsa is more like pico, but still good. Just add some jalapenos to spice it up a little.:D

Here is a link to all the decks: http://www.cruisecheap.com/c/deckplan.php?SailDate=&ShipID=15&DeckNumber=9 Be on her in 2 days!

DH is wrong. You will get lost or at least turned around. My DW says it happens multiple times a day. She swears that she usually only figures out the ship on the final day of the cruise.:p But so what. You will be fine.
IPlayWithString Posted May 25, 2013 #56 Share Posted May 25, 2013 I hope so...I'm just so NERVOUS. I've never been out of the country before and the lack of details (at least as far as I can find) of daily onboard acivities is driving me cuckoo since I"m the kind of person who likes to plan things way ahead of time right down to the minute.:p

Also, be ready for changes due to weather, excursion cancellations, etc. Just go, relax, and take it all in.

Sh1035 Posted May 25, 2013 #60 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Love the ship sailed it 2 times this month! I have neighbors that sail it monthly. I love the Thai BBQ sauce at the Mongolian wok! Sure it gets busy so be there right at 12 if you want no lines. Casino staff is also a blast and friendly. Tommy is a trip! Best part when. You take a right out of the St. John's into the Atlantic my house is about 5 miles on the right.....wave! Also, best chance of seeing a dolphin is right where the boat is parked or in the St. John's. it's like clock work and not that hard to spot if you pay attention. movingimages Posted May 26, 2013 #64 Share Posted May 26, 2013 Listen to the band that plays at the Starz bar outside the casino. One of the few ships that still have this feature in Carnivals fleet. Sad that they are getting rid of the live bands. Just off the Fascination last Thursday. Definitely go see the Fascination Show Band outside the Starz bar. They are tight. Play a wide variety of music.

aggiejade Posted July 21, 2013 #71 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Does this ship have the Taste Bar? Or the Martini Sampler - pick 4 martini's for $17 (I think)?
IPlayWithString Posted July 21, 2013 #72 Share Posted July 21, 2013 I don't remember if they had a Taste Bar..I *do* remember them having a martini sampler at one point during the cruise. Not sure if he's been moved to another ship, but George (who was *faaaaabulously* British and the only man I know who could get away with both a pompadour AND leopard skin pants:D) was our cruise director. If you see him, tell him I said 'allo! (they don't say hello in England..they say 'allo!:D)
