Great review so far! Sailing Oct 2014 in the Breeze, so I'm reading as much as I can about it!

I was on CC all the time trying to get as much information as I could get. This site is great. Any ?'s just ask.

Thank you! Was it for a day or the whole trip?

It was 149.00 per person for the 8 day cruise. DH did not get it just me. But remember it is NOT for spa treatments. You have to pay for those if you want anything more.

I was on this sailing with you but didn't take a lot of photos of the ship. I'm so glad you did. I also had a great time on this cruise and am now suffering from PCD. Guess it's time to plan the next one!

Thank you so much for your review and your photos!!!

I sailed the Breeze in January and am enjoying "re-visiting" the ship through your review and photos!

I do have a question. We sailed Breeze in Jan. in a cove balcony. DH wants to be higher up when we sail her again in Oct. I know because of the promenade deck a lot of the balconies look down on that deck but not on the water which is a deal breaker for my DH. Could you look down on the water from your balcony without having an obstructed view? I'm getting ready to book and trying to pick a cabin.

Pat

Just wanted to touch on this....I was concerned about the sight lines when I booked the Breeze......if you look at the deck plans you can see that the Lanai on Deck 5 actually gets much narrower toward the very aft and very forward areas of the ship. It is more like a walkway here rather than wide deck with loungers and such. I booked a cabin on Deck 7 just aft of the farthest aft elevator banks and I was satisfied.....If you leaned over and looked straight down you were looking at promenade deck but standing casually and looked down and out gave me the wonderful water views I have always enjoyed AND offered enough distance from the hot tubs and people that I never felt my privacy was hindered in any way.

We went back and forth on which deck to get Lido or spa. My DH didn't use the spa and Lido has a lot on it so we decided on that one. It was very quick from the Lido to get to the spa but I had to pay the 149 and you didn't! Plus your cabin from the photos I have seen look beautiful.

That is me too! We are trying to decide between a land vacation to Aruba because we loved that island or another cruise.

Great review so far! I'll be on this same itinerary in a spa cabin in 4 months, so I'm looking forward to much more. :)

I loved your last review on the Valor! You did a wonderful job and it felt like I was there. It is on my list of cruises I want to take!

Whoops! I have to admit that before we explored the ship we HAD to get a Guy’s Burger. All I can say is almost all the reviews I have read tell how great the burgers are and I am here to tell you they are even better than that!! There was not much of a line and we had our burgers in hand in less than a minute. The topping bar has everything you would need like bacon (and not just little pieces either), fried onions, mushrooms, sauerkraut, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc.

Yummy!!!

Thanks to Cruise Critic I knew if we went to the back of the ship there would be plenty of places to sit and what do you know? There was plenty of room. It seemed like a lot of people don’t realize if they just keep walking back toward the end of Lido deck by Tides pool there is tons of seating. We had to get seats looking out over the ocean and we did!

We found throughout the whole cruise that no matter how many people were on the ship you could always find a spot to sit. So instead of just heading to the tables right in the buffet just keep walking and there will be plenty of tables.

Back by Tides pool is Tandoor (Indian food) and the Pizza Pirate.

LidopizzaPirate_zps55bb5dcc.jpg

Also, late at night the Tandor changes from Indian food to hotdogs, brownies, ham and cheese sandwiches, buffalo chicken sandwiches and little snacks. We went back to Pizza Pirate most nights and there were never many people at Tandor so I am not sure if people know about it but it was a great place for a snack.

Before we went to muster we tried to get the Cheers program so we went to the Blue lguana Tequilla bar on Lido deck and they told us to go to the Casino. We went to the Casino and they said no you have to go back to the Blue lguana. We were a little frustrated because they clearly didn’t know what was going on. But we started thinking hey we should have gotten the package when we first boarded so instead of getting irritated we said forget Cheers for today and let’s just get a bucket of Bud Light for sail away! They did have a place to buy the Cheers package in the hallway before entering the Lido deck when we first got on the ship but there was no one there when we went to buy it which is why we went to the bars. I would like to let you know our take on the Cheers package. Cheers: You can either buy it the first or second day and as everyone knows it is 49.99 plus gratuity. We bought the package on the second day so we paid for a total of 804.00 for 7 days. We only drink beer so I will address that. We could have 15 drinks each per day. I read that each of us would have to hand our sign and sail card to the bartender/server to get our drinks. Not true. DH could leave our cabin (love Lido deck!!) with both our cards and bring back 2 beers unopened so we could enjoy them on our balcony whenever we wanted and we also had a cooler iced to keep them cold if we didn’t drink them right then. At the end of the night we always had a few beers iced in our cooler in our cabin because we would bring them back unopened. Towards the end of the cruise we just used what was in our cooler instead of getting them from Lido deck. I think it is a great program for people who like having different kinds of drinks and maybe enjoy drinks throughout the day but we found out pretty quickly that the program did not work for us so Carnival definitely made money off us. We never even came close to having that many drinks. Also, I thought that maybe we wouldn’t get waited on because we had Cheers and that was not true at all. The bar staff everywhere were all very attentive and it made no difference at all that we had Cheers. So for those of you who enjoy your cocktails throughout the day then Cheers would work for you so enjoy!

Before we knew it the time had come for Muster Drill. We went to Ovation Theatre Aft 5.

BreezeOvation_zpsf61ac5a0.jpg

It went pretty quickly and we did not have to bring the life jackets. After that we headed to the Lido deck for Sail A Way.

Now doesn't my DH look happy!

Lidomarksailaway_zps2a4f28a2.jpg

Sail A Way was fun and we had a great place to watch! We sat on the upper deck on cushioned seats overlooking the pool area but we were in the shade. Perfect!! It was loud and people were dancing and having a great time. We stayed for a bit and then decided to head to our balcony for the rest of the Sail A Way. Although it was very loud on the deck it was so much fun to watch everyone enjoy themselves especially all the families dancing together. I noticed a few families on board and they were all very well behaved. I especially liked seeing the families in the dining room with everyone dressed up.

We stayed out on our balcony for a long time just relaxing and realizing we had the whole week ahead of us and forgot all about time. But then REALITY set in as it started to get dark and realized we had not unpacked anything and we needed to do that. As we unpacked I used Wrinkle Free and sprayed all our clothes so the only ironing I had to do was DH’s shirt and suit coat. What a huge time saver that was! Also, for those interested we brought our own fan and extension cords and just packed them in our suitcase and they made it through fine.

We were starving but no way were we going to get dressed for dinner so we headed to the buffet for the salad bar. I will review the buffet later but for this night it was great for us because we just wanted an easy meal and didn't want to take the time for a longer meal.

And pizza which we loved!

BreezeDinner1stnight_zps6d3e545f.jpg

Again many tables were available and we sat and looked out over the ocean at the Tide pool area. We just loved the many places you could find to sit. We then went to the casino to check it out and it was crowded. We ended up at Ocean Plaza

BreezeOceanPlaza_zps75b8f7f7.jpg

and listened to Love SoulJaz Band and then over to the Red Frog Pub to hear Tom on the guitar.

BreezeRedFrog_zps416a27ca.jpg

We especially loved hearing the band Love SoulJaz. They were great!! We really like the music on this cruise. By now it was almost midnight so we headed up to our cabin and out on our balcony. Every night no matter what time we got back to the cabin we went out on our balcony for at least an hour. For us I don’t think we could ever sail without one. Sometimes people want to know about smoking or rude people and I am happy to report that we had none of that. I did smell cigar smoke occasionally and I don’t like the smell but my DH does and whoever was smoking was only out there a few times so no big deal to us. We had a connecting cabin and you could NOT hear anything in that cabin. On the other side there was a family and I could hear a kiddo out on the balcony a few times and it was really nice to hear such a happy voice! We never heard anyone at night out in the hallways so I don’t know if it is because the Lido deck is so quiet or we just got lucky. Plus I guess it does help having a fan going because I can’t sleep without one.

We had a perfect first day and fell asleep exhausted but happy! I would like to comment on the bedding. We sleep on a firm mattress at home and this mattress was firm but not hard at all. The bedding was very nice too.

Atrium Lobby which is a great place to sit with a drink before going into the Sapphire Dining Room. Sometimes there was a DJ but most nights it was music with Massina Duo. We would see people dancing and was just a nice area to hang out. During the day there were dance classes and other thing going on.

Loving your review and great pictures. What kind of camera did you use? So the Spa Pass just lets you use the hot tub , steamroom? I cruise the same itinerary 8/31/2013. Looking forward to the rest!

I just have an I phone and a Sony Cyber shot which is just a cheapie camera but works fine for me. Yes, you do have to pay extra for other things in the spa. But there is also a really cool shower (not the one in the locker room) but beside the heated loungers that has different scents. So there is the steam room, sauna, 2 different lounger chair area's one was hotter than another and also the whirlpool. I would spend about 2 hours in the spa each time I went. My daughter is a massage therapist and owns her own place so I get my massages and facials from her and never even thought about getting anything more done of the ship. I felt the 149 for the week was well worth it for me.

LOVING your review!!! We were in 10278 in April ( we were through your connecting door ):D:D I agree with you, that Lido is the ONLY way to go. It was so nice to run out to the bar and be back in two minutes to enjoy it on your balcony.

Keep up the great work!!!!:D

Your photos are so sharp and clear! I loved the one of the casino. Backs on real chairs. Love it.

The entire ship looks clean and cheerful. We sail on the Breeze for 8 days, God Willing and the Creeks don't rise....Looking forward to it immensely.

And if you loved Aruba .......try a cruise to Bonaire. Close to Paradise. Less Developed.but very clean. The Water.........like a mirror. They are very GREEN so the waters have been protected. Some areas are banned to swimmers and divers..due to protecting the coral there.

If you try to take a bird off of the Island..2 years in the slammer for you....Parrots fly freely..Paraqueets..........just lovely. I want to go back.......

the saying about the Creeks rising refers to the Creek Indian Tribes of the SE..some of whom fought for the USA Gov. with Andrew Jackson and others did not. The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was the final major Creek Uprising. Today the Tribe owns very profitable Casinos in Mississippi..Alabama..Florida....so they are getting their own back. It worked out O.K.
