Breeze Southern Caribbean Review

Recommended Posts

Great Review!!! And helps countdown the days for us to experience the Breeze! I thought the Cheers program is 42.50 and 49.99 only on the one 4 day cruise on a different ship (don't remember name). So now it's 49.99 on all. Is that hard to purchase the first day? Where did you finally purchase it?

Thanks!

I wanted to get the spa package for the week and I knew there was a limit on them.

Hi great review what does the spa pack include??

Thanks

It includes the steam rooms, sauna, 2 different types of heated lounges, a really nice shower (not the one in the locker room) beside the heated loungers that has different scents and the Thalassotherapy pool which I loved!

LOVING your review!!! We were in 10278 in April ( we were through your connecting door ):D:D I agree with you, that Lido is the ONLY way to go. It was so nice to run out to the bar and be back in two minutes to enjoy it on your balcony.

Keep up the great work!!!!:D

Honestly it felt like we were home and just running into the kitchen!

Your photos are so sharp and clear! I loved the one of the casino. Backs on real chairs. Love it.

The entire ship looks clean and cheerful. We sail on the Breeze for 8 days, God Willing and the Creeks don't rise....Looking forward to it immensely.

And if you loved Aruba .......try a cruise to Bonaire. Close to Paradise. Less Developed.but very clean. The Water.........like a mirror. They are very GREEN so the waters have been protected. Some areas are banned to swimmers and divers..due to protecting the coral there.

If you try to take a bird off of the Island..2 years in the slammer for you....Parrots fly freely..Paraqueets..........just lovely. I want to go back.......

the saying about the Creeks rising refers to the Creek Indian Tribes of the SE..some of whom fought for the USA Gov. with Andrew Jackson and others did not. The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was the final major Creek Uprising. Today the Tribe owns very profitable Casinos in Mississippi..Alabama..Florida....so they are getting their own back. It worked out O.K.

Loved the chairs in there too! It was a really great cruise. Will have to think about Bonaire. Thanks for reading the review.

We purchased on 2nd day and it was 804.00 for both of us. We got in at the Atrium Lobby Bar. They will have tables set up right before you go on the Lido deck. We should have gotten the package as soon as we boarded the ship but we didn't so it was really are faultt we ended running between bars to get it.

I a bit confused, we have always used the steam and sauna rooms for free. Has it changed on Breeze?

I know when I went into the spa area I needed a card to scan myself in. I would get one from the front desk each day. So I am assuming that they are not free anymore.

Hopefully someone here can help you with your question.

Day 2 Sea Day and Elegant Evening:

What a great feeling to know we had the whole day ahead of us with no plans except to relax. So we started the day with a breakfast burrito

from the Blue Iguana.

Here are your choices:

Everything was so fresh looking!

The toppings bar to add whatever you want

DSC00204_zps0f968d8a.jpg

YUMMY!!!

DSC00383_zps6cf528fe.jpg

These are the best ones we have ever had. At the beginning of the cruise there were no lines at all. At the end there were lines but hardly more than a few minutes. You can pick whatever you want in your burrito and then go over the toppings bar and pick different salsas, cheese etc. There is a drink station right across from it for coffee, water, orange juice and mango juice. Again, there were no problems at all finding a table to sit right by the Blue Iguana and the pool. In the morning they had the big screen going and they had on shows like Cheers and the Honeymooners.

After breakfast I went to the spa and DH tried to go to Serenity but every single seat was taken so he just found another deck and read and then went to the casino.

The spa was fabulous! It was never crowded at all. I used the Thalassotherapy pool which was my favorite! Next, I tried the heated loungers which were SO relaxing. Then I was off to the steam and sauna areas (a very tough life I was leading on this cruise). This spa is beautiful and so worth the $149.00 I spent to be able to go whenever I wanted. I always ended up taking a shower in the locker room. The showers here are huge just like I read on this site.

My only complaint about the spa is that sometimes the conversation was a little distracting. There were a couple of woman talking quietly back and forth and that didn’t bother me at all. Honestly, I can see talking quietly to someone, but there were people using the heated loungers that were so loud it really felt like I was back on the Lido deck or a bar. To me a spa is a space to relax and recharge and not a place where people socialize loudly. That was not the atmosphere I wanted but I didn’t let it ruin my time up there. I just tried to block them out. If anyone could comment on this I would appreciate the feedback. I would like to know if my expectations of a spa being quiet and restful were unrealistic.

I met up with DH on the Ocean Plaza deck for Fat Jimmy’s C-Side BBQ. In the casino he played roulette and video poker and he didn't win or lose so I call that winning!! He said the casino was great.

We met at Fat Jimmy's Seaside Barbeque outside on Plaza deck 5. It was open from 12 to 2:30. When we first got there was plenty of seats so we got a table with an umbrella and then lots of people started coming to line up so we got in line. We got a table in the shade and stood in line at 11:50. It was a good thing we got in line then because the lines after that were very long.

Sorry my hand was moving so photo not very good but maybe you can still see what there was for food.

The food was very good!! We wanted to go back on another sea day but the lines just got worse so we were glad we went when we did! The jalapeno muffins were so good, the pulled pork sandwiches, beans, rice and really everything.

I believe some parts of the spa are still available to passengers not paying for the spa amenities.

I think it's a couple of the normal steam rooms and saunas and a locker room.

I could be wrong though.

We then went to the Lido deck because there were activities going on like the Men's Hairy Chest, DJ's etc. It was really loud there and not our type of thing but obviously it was for a lot of people and so many people were really enjoying it.

Tides Pool

We walked to the back of the ship before Tides Pool and found loungers right in the shade so we could read. Although I did keep running back and forth to the Lido pool to see some of the fun things people were doing! Plus it was great chatting it up with other people.

We stayed out relaxing for quite a while and then I had to get an icecream before heading back to the cabin for a quick nap before Elegant night. There was chocolate and vanilla icecream and also frozen youguart.

It was elegant night so we went to the Sapphire dining room at 7:00. We were only in the line a few minutes although it was a long line it went very fast. Here comes the complaining so please skip this part if you don’t like to read anything negative. We told the hostess we would like to sit with other people and they sat us at table for 2 which was VERY close to the next table which was a 4 top. At first we didn’t mind because we thought we would chat with the people beside us. However, they didn’t even look our way. But that was ok we figured if we met people fine and if we didn't that was ok too. Our waiter pretty much ignored us the whole time we were there. There was talking at all except when he took our order. The drink server didn’t even come near us until after about 25 minutes of being seated and that was only because we got the attention of another waiter and asked for some help. I think it was almost an hour before we even got our drink. Our waiter was so overworked he was sweating! We tried to get his attention and he would say he would be right over but he had so many plates and was rushing everywhere that it took him forever to get to us. And no we didn't complain. It was 1 meal and I really believe he had way too many tables.

First my salad was SO good!

DSC00239_zps55eb7351.jpg

DH soup (he thinks it was roasted pepper soup but we can't remember)

DSC00240_zpsdadf98a2.jpg

Smoked Duck which was so tasty!

DSC00245_zps91c3261e.jpg

Maine Lobster

DSC00246_zpsd42e9b1e.jpg

DH said this was not very good but I don't think he should have ordered it anyway. We live in Maine our nephews are lobstermen and we get lobster whenever we want right from the boat

I did like the singing waiters and to me they all looked happy while they did their song. I looked around and there were many waiters who were happy and talking with everyone so I really think it was just our bad luck that night. We left at 9:00 (yes 2 hours) and NEVER got dessert! We ordered it and the waiter kept bringing out plates but none were ours. We couldn’t believe we were there for that long for only an appetizer and our main meal. Our waiter saw us get up to leave and said wait I will get your dessert but we said no thank you and left. We vowed not to go back to the dining room but I am so glad we changed our mind because the experience was so different the next time!!

Another thing I noticed was that everyone looked nice. I don't recall any t-shirts but I saw lots of people in great looking outfits. I loved, loved seeing all the families especially when the little ones were dressed up.

We first tried to go the comedy show but lines way too long.

We walked around a lot of the decks and just checked out everything. We went into the Liquid lounge and it was packed. Every time we went in there it was really busy.

Photo not clear but wanted to show how busy it was

DSC00249_zps9e391804.jpg

Walked by piano bar and decided to go another night

DSC00247_zpsb3c59585.jpg

Ended up stopping by the pub and listening to Ryan.

This is who greeted us when we went back to the cabin

DSC00252_zps42315787.jpg

Then off to our balcony before turning in for the night. At home we go to bed at 9pm because we are at work pretty early in the morning. On this cruise we never went to bed before 1am. There were so many different choices for music at night and that is what we like to do so this was a huge plus for us and one of the reasons we really enjoyed this cruise.

Hello from another Maineiac! I am loving your review! My sister is taking me on the Breeze in September as my birthday gift this year. We are excited to leave the hubby's and kids behind and have some quality sister time.

Embarkation: We were so excited that the day had finally come. We called a taxi at 10:30 AM and asked the driver to first bring us to Publix to get soda. I am a Pepsi drinker and I know the ship only has Coke so no way was this girl not having Diet Pepsi for 8 days! DH got 2 12 packs of Diet Pepsi and off we went. We arrived at the port just before 11 and all I can say is seeing the size of the ship and how beautiful the ship is our first impression was WOW! We got F2F and it was worth it! Everyone saw our tags and whisked us right up to the correct line without us even asking. I would say total time from leaving taxi and sitting down in the boarding area was 10-15 minutes tops. The waiting area was really nice.

Miamiboardingarea2_zps8b49205a.jpg

Since we had F2F we went directly to our cabin which was Lido deck cabin 10276. They did have crew checking to see if we had F2F before we could go to our cabin. We loved this location. We were so close to everything on Lido deck. Anytime we wanted anything from the buffet to the bars it was a minute. In the future this is the deck we will stay on. Our luggage was already in the cabin when we got there. We met our cabin steward Randy who was fantastic the whole week. He asked if we had any special requests and we just said ice for our cooler. The cabin has so much storage and plenty of coat hangers.

I think I just got a little teary eyed seeing these pictures of 10276! We miss it so much since that was our room in February. We loved that room!!!!

That is Rock Lobster, or some say Spiny Lobster. I haven't had Maine Lobster in the MDR on a cruise ship in years. Real nice photos, though. :):):):)
