zackiedawg Posted May 28, 2013 #12 Share Posted May 28, 2013 I agree with all the Memorial Day sentiments, though I decided to spend my extra holiday day by going birding in the wetlands before the family barbecue... Red-winged blackbird chicks wanting to be fed first by mom: Great blue heron flying past: When it gets too tiring standing on those long legs, this great blue heron drops down to his knees for a rest: A baby green heron, now growing larger, but still hasn't left the nest: Alligators like to sit on the levees too, so watch where you walk! This one was cooling off in the tremendous heat by opening his mouth and letting the heat escape: (All shots Sony A580 & Minolta 300mm F4 APO with 1.4x TC)

Krazy Kruizers Posted May 28, 2013 #17 Share Posted May 28, 2013 Two of our characters missed breakfast this morning so they were eating the seeds from our maple trees: Both squirrels always come together. It is funny watching them ruuning across the fences.

boeckli Posted June 2, 2013 #22 Share Posted June 2, 2013 While you have spring flowers and the first tomatoes, it's autumn colours for us - in fact yesterday (June 1) was officially our first day of winter Our local waterfall mid-week (I'll try and go back tomorrow for more photos, as we have had quite a bit of rain in the last 24 hrs and it's still pouring outside now (7pm)
