Low Sodium, Heart Healthy Meals?

There used to be items on the menu marked something like "Light" or "Heart Healthy", but I don't remember them the last time we cruised a year ago. Does Norwegian have those any more? We would like to take Mom on a cruise next year, but even one heavily salted meal causes her ankles to swell significantly due to heart problems.

We are looking for suggestions from those who have dealt with this problem successfully, rather than what the NCL website says to do. Thanks for the help!

The breakfast offers cholesterol free egg alternatives, but they also have loads of fruit and cereal and wholewheat.

Every evening menu in the MDRs have a few meals (identified by ticks) listed as healthy alternatives. Also, they were brilliant at accommodating specific food needs and amendments to the food itemised on the menu (swapping mash for veg or jacket potatoes).

Sure you will be fine!

When I booked my last NCL cruise, Diane, the pcc, with whom I spoke, asked me if I had any dietary issues which the ship needs to know about. You can discuss those issues at booking time.

Also, my friend met with a dietary staff member onboard, to work out a plan best suited for her.
