insulationbabe Posted May 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2013 Has anyone stayed in Cabin 1098 before and is the obstructed view a real problem. We were just assigned this cabin and just wondering. If you have can you post on here as to what the obstruction is? Thanks
critterchick Posted May 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2013 I haven't stayed in that cabin, but I've walked through it and had a good look (on disembarkation day, after the occupants had departed the ship). The obstruction is the hull of the ship, which covers part of the balcony. But the good news is that the balcony is larger than that of a standard JS, and the hull gives some shade on a hot sunny day (or protects you from rain). If I couldn't get 1100 or 1602, that cabin or 1598 on the starboard side would be my next choice.:)
Allaboutsailingrc Posted May 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2013 I've actually stayed in that cabin and the above description is correct. I loved the cabin and especially the balcony. Did not seem obstructed to me at all. :)
cb at sea Posted May 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2013 We have stayed there....the obstruction is a window washing platform and ladder that is ABOVE your head. You will see it, but it truly obstructs nothing. The ladder is totally see-thru..... The balcony is larger than the other JS's on the side. No worries...there is nothing wrong with that cabin!!! The only downside is the extremely long walk to the end of the hall....
insulationbabe Posted May 29, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 29, 2013 thanks so much for your reply - we have had a window washing unit before and no problem for me . We don't like the long walk, actually I do, he doesn't - bad hips and bad knees
