Headliner show

Hi Everyone

 

Soon sailing on the Oasis, just wanted to know who the Headliner's have been on recent cruises? Are they normally singers?

Anyone seen the comedy show lately and was it funny? I have a great sense of humor so I am sure I will enjoy it

Headliner was an older singer on my trip. Comedy show was fantastic. Liked it so much I went to the cleaner main theater show later in the week and the improv show as well.

The headliners vary from cruise to cruise. Generally no headliner stays on for more than two cruises. (they often board mid-cruise so they perform on two cruises, getting off the second cruise mid-cruise)

Just off Oasis June 1. Headliner was an old "comedy music impressionist". How old ?? His claims to fame were opening for Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and many others of that era. I didn't go to the show and no one in our group except my 70+ y/o father went. I was a little disappointed that this was the headliner for our cruise because all of the other shows were really great. But I didn't go, so really can't say if it was good or not.

Just off the Oasis. Heard the Comedy Show was great but we never made it. The number 1 show to me was the Aqua Show, followed by the Ice Show, Hairspray and Come fly we me. We went to the Crown Lounge one night to hear singers from Hairspray. Their voices were too big for the lounge.

 

BTW were you near the frakas on the ship near Sorrentos right before 8? A family tried to leave the ship without paying. Their key cards buzzed and they tried to make a run for it!!! Security was called and one of the male members took off his back pack so he could punch out security. The women were screaming and cussing....it all ended peacefully when they were surrounded by 8 police officers and escorted off the ship. My kids were right behind them in line. My kids/grandkids will never forget this cruise!

Comedy show was so great! Laughed until I cried the whole time - all 3 comedians were so good! Aqua show was awesome and the splish splash show was too. Skating show awesome! Hairspray awesome! Agree with you about the voices being too big for Viking Crown Lounge, but think the sound guy could have adjusted that - LOVED being so close to the stars for that venue. Come Fly with Me was not awesome - parts were good, but those slow ballads were not worth our time and we cut out during the 2nd one.

Agree with you about everything. My granddaughter turned to me during come fly with me and said" what is this about"? I said to my husband during the Aqua show they're not really going to that, then oh..s......"

 

Our kids called us as soon as they cleared customs to tell us about the frakas. When the key card buzzed they were told they had to pay their their bill. At this point they made a run for it but were stopped by security. When they were brought back one of the males decided he was going to fight. I don't know if he got a punch off. Meanwhile the Mom was cussing a blue streak. I guess when security increased the Mom decided she would pay the bill but security told her it was too late for that. Then she started in on how they were going to miss their flight and RCL was being unfair, discriminating against them etc.... Security detained them near Sorrentos until the police arrived. The incident shut down debarkation for a long time. My husband said evidently the family was suffering from the stupid virus. This is all on tape. I figure they will be charged with grand larceny, assault and perhaps verbal abuse of a police officer. I think missing their plane is the least of their problems!!!

No such charge in Canada ... if there was a charge for verbally abusing a police officer we'd need a lot more jail cells. ha

What a miserable way to end a cruise. I'm sure they planned to walk off without paying or they would have just paid (and not run) when they were called on it at Sea Pass checkout.

 

We were in the Studio B (ice rink) when we heard that disembarkation had been shut down for an hour - now we know why.

Yup that is an open and shut case of discrimination. They should sue RCI for about 20 million dollars for harassment, pain and suffering, and medical bills. RCI discriminated against them because most other people were simply being allowed to walk off the ship with nothing more than a "Thank you", and those others whose cards buzzed weren't made to feel embarrassed (like this poor woman was) when they simply turned around and walked back to GS to pay their bill.

He was awesome. did the best bill clinton. very good show. got standing ovation at the end.

My son-in-law told me last night that Oasis was calm cool and collected until the guy threw down his back pack and got in the face of security and was ready to take him down. The idiot was a little out numbered!!! Security yelled "hostile, call police". It was at this point that the Mom decided she would pay the billS to avoid the police. There was no offer to pay for anything until the Mom heard the word police! She then wanted to work things out...the males in the group only wanted to fight their way off the ship! It was too early for them to be drunk so perhaps they are just stupid!
