FOXTROT Posted July 19, 2013 #227 Share Posted July 19, 2013 We tried another cruise line and would say RCCL does it this way. We prefered RCCL so we will stay loyal.
Richst48 Posted July 19, 2013 #228 Share Posted July 19, 2013 We have been loyal to Royal because we wanted to at least get to Diamond status. Now that we have completed our first cruise in Diamond I might consider trying Celebrity but I will have to talk my wife in to it. She loves Royal. We are spoiled because we only stay in Owner's Suites now and love the extra perks of the Gold Sea Pass card. We started sailing late in life but hope to make Diamond + someday. Barbiegator Posted July 20, 2013 #229 Share Posted July 20, 2013 Only reason I would book another cruise line would be if I find a cruise to a new port.I love RC.
cjknox Posted July 20, 2013 #230 Share Posted July 20, 2013 I am not a believer in being loyal to one cruise line because there are so many great experiences to be had on other lines that if you just stay with one cruise line you will truly be missing out. The great thing about cruises is that no matter what cruise ship / line you choose you will always have a decent time. IF you go with the proper mindset. Cruising89143 Posted July 20, 2013 #231 Share Posted July 20, 2013 We are not seasoned cruisers as yet, but so far have only been with RCI and have had wonderful times on each ship. We are just nervous of trying another company in case it didn't quite match up. I'm sure many are equal to, if not better than RCI, but we are yet to take the plunge. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app I think that it's good to try other lines. The only line that we have found equal or better for us is Celebrity. We tried a few others and came back to RCI. I only have one cruise line that I refuse to cruise on again and that's the Fun ships.
K1200S Posted July 20, 2013 #232 Share Posted July 20, 2013 We have cruised other lines but have not done in the past 7 years. We like RCI and see no reason to go elsewhere. Pete Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

dplusd Posted July 20, 2013 #234 Share Posted July 20, 2013 We mix it up and I like that. We've sailed on Celebrity, Princess, Carnival and Royal Caribbean and they all offer great experiences and enjoyable vacations. As said many times on these boards, the cruise is what you make of it. First thoughts on each cruise line I've sailed. Celebrity - a bit too dressy but the BEST specialty restaurants Carnival - too loud everywhere, least attractive ships, but loved shorts in the MDR Princess - Closest to Royal, but terrific poolside pizza, Trident Grill for fresh made burgers and hot dogs, and International Café is EXCELLENT (better than Café Promenade) Royal - best ship design, good staterooms, good fellow passengers Today, I think Royal fits us best and our next couple of cruises are booked on Royal. I am sure we will sail Princess again (probably for their Alaska itinerary). Doubt we will sail Carnival again. Point I am trying to make is all of the mainstream cruise lines are more alike than they are different. And each has it subtle differences...strengths and weaknesses. Until you experience them, it's hard to know which cruise line would have been your favorite!
andiloveu Posted July 20, 2013 #235 Share Posted July 20, 2013 We are loyal to royal. We love their loyalty program. After our December cruise we will be Emerald. Working our way to Diamond. Love the perks!:D
abridalmaven Posted July 20, 2013 #236 Share Posted July 20, 2013 The old adage of " If it ain't broke don't fix it" seems to fit perfectly for myself. Am I missing out on another cruise line???? Maybe, but have nothing but fond memories of my first cruise on Sovereign of the Seas, to my last cruise Explorer that I have no need or desire to sail another cruise line. Have six hopefully soon to be seven booked over the next two years and the excitement and anticipation is still there! Also the fact that I have met so many wonderful crew and passengers that I have met over the years on Royal that I stay in touch with is amazing. And nothing like going on a cruise and seeing passengers and crew that you have come to know over the years!:):) Amen to that. We have over dozen with RCI under our belt. And the one cruise we did on the NCL Dawn showed us we were better off staying with a line we love.
