Walking tour of Rome

Can anyone make a recommendation on a Rome walking tour with a guide.

Walksofitaly has exactly what we want, but doesn't do it on Friday's when we will be in port.

We are looking for a small group (say 8 or less) walking tour with a guide that includes them purchasing the tickets in advance and includes the Vatican.

Budget of 100E.

Any suggestions?

We used a private company that provides transportation too...Rome is so big! Some of them also offer walking guides:)

Rome is actually very small, at least the historical center that tourists are interested in. The longest distance most tourists would cover is from the Colosseum to Vatican City, which is only two miles.

As this poster notes, if you hire a transportation company and also want a guide the guide is a separate service and an additional charge. These two services require different licenses in Italy and cannot legally be performed by one person. (If a person happens to have both licenses they cannot use them simultaneously.)

My cousins raved about througheternity.com

We used maxleotta.com. Ours was a separate driver and him as a guide, BUT he also does walking tours. He was absolutely wonderful!

Have a look at angeltours.eu/rome. I found them through CC last year and have them booked for a walking tour this year. It is a night time introductory tour for 2 hours @ 10 euro p/p.

The idea is that a local guides/assists with general info and does a walking tour of a specific area like the Vatican or the Jewish Ghetto.

The group will not be bigger then 8.

They are also in Florence and in Venice.
