jagsfan Posted July 25, 2013 #76 Share Posted July 25, 2013 I kept wondering what savory bites were, too. I just called them "those little rolls". I'm relieved they didn't take them away with the Vidalia Onion Tarts.

ticktoneer Posted July 25, 2013 #79 Share Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) Can anyone comment on what their favorite dishes from the dining room, buffet, promenade or room service are that they are enjoying now that RCI has changed their menu. Thanks.:) I like that they have BBB Crème Brulee available every day ! Yum Yum And the Chicken Sliders in the MDR Brasserie 30 lunchtime menu are great. jagsfan Posted September 7, 2013 #80 Share Posted September 7, 2013 They're golf-ball sized, dark, triangular rolls. The savory bites also can vary from night to night. On Jewel one night they had sun-dried tomatoes, one night they had olives, the next night they had onion, etc. But on Independence they were always the standard poppy seed version. Losing Savoury Bites would probably make me quit cruising. Of course, I thought the same thing about Vidalia Onion Tarts.
Troyer5 Posted January 21, 2014 #81 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I enjoy the Beef Sliders w/Steak Fries. They're on the menu every night. You can even order them as an appetizer. :DI tried them and like them so much, had them as an appetizer.:)Lots of nights, I ordered multiple items to keep from starving. The 1st night waiter was slow then very slow next night, super slow 3rd night, and finally ultra slow last night.[hint when asking for item as starter mention it to waiter]. fourkittys Posted January 21, 2014 #82 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Love all of the recommendations! I actually started a new thread because I thought this was an older post. Anyway, I wanted to post a compiled list of all of the suggestions I found here (and a few from elsewhere). Anything else to add to the list? The stars indicate each additional time I saw it suggested (so no stars means that I only saw it once), although I stopped adding stars after there was a lot. -orecchiette pasta w short rib sauce -chicken cordon bleu* -sea scallop & chorizo app***** -chocolate sensation dessert (warm) ******* -chicken salad app -chicken caesar salad entree -seafood spaghetti** -fisherman’s platter (lobster/shrimp) -strip steak (every day menu) (hit or miss) -entree salads* -banana rum soup *** -bay scallops* -lamb shank* -lasagna* -chilled soup* -tandoori chicken salad -garlic tiger shrimp*** -mojo pork chop*** -tiramisu -garlic soup** -blueberry peach crumble* -seafood ceviche app -crab cake app* -snow crab salad entree** -carrot cake -lemon meringue pie -sticky bread & butter pudding****** -asian coconut seafood soup -eggplant parm* -beef sliders (every day entree but can order as app)***** -creamy mushroom soup with flaky croissant top -double boiled chicken consommé app -caesar salad app on everyday menu -linguini pomodoro on everyday menu -three cheese tortellini w mushrooms -prime rib -beef tenderloin -barramundi fish -chicken marsala -duck -artichoke crepes* -braised beef duo -shrimp gyoza entree -poblano and corn soup -fish rillettes -horseradish salmon -creme brulee -shrimp ravioli Thank you very much for including these favorites. We don't sail until Nov. on the Freedom and are looking forward to try some of these great suggestions. Carnival has been quite a let down and we were not impressed with Holland. I'm glad this cruisleline is trying some new things, although it sad to see some of favorites disappear.
