The change fee on United went up to $200 per person. Of course, they won't mind putting you on the next flight. $200 change fee plus difference in fare. Not a bad deal for the airline.

If the US government hasn't sorted out the budget then there will continue to be slowdowns by Customs at the Port, and TSA at the airport. Actually, the longer it goes on the worse sequestration will get.

 

Second, flights are FULL these days, folks. Maybe you pay nothing for the next flight, but the next AVAILABLE flight could be six hours later.

 

I'd pay the $80 each and take the later flight.

We are flying back to LAX. Out of Miami. Last April we took the 3;45pm flight and book a tour with a cruise ship that drop us off at the Airport. Maybe we will do the same this year. Hopefully Celebrity has a tour offers.
