Definitely going to keep the reservation. Your points make a lot of sense. I certainly do not expect to be allowed to check in early- but it would be lovely to hang by the pool or a while or to sip on a mojito at the bar while I wait.

Just wanted to post an update about early check in. Now granted, I am a club member so perhaps this made a difference? But I arrived and checked in at 10:30am this morning (however I did notice others checking in behind me as well). I received a beautiful, high floor, corner room with a water view of where all the ships come into the port. Although it is a windy day, I enjoyed the pool area a lot more than I did at the JW Marriott here in Miami last summer. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!!
