HAL does offer a beverage card that can be used for all beverages, including specialty coffees. The card costs $50 and is worth the same amount, so no savings there. The main benefit I have found is that you don't need to keep track of many sales slips.

There's a running balance; when your purchase amount is subtracted, just check the new slip against the old one, then discard the old. It makes proofing out the final bill a lot easier, as there's only the one charge to look at.
