KillaFee Posted July 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Hi! We'll be on the Splendor in November. Does anyone happen to have any up-to-date photos or listings of the room service offerings? I'd love to see a room service menu. Thanks! Laura

xbatt8 Posted July 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Thank you so much for posting this! I'm drooling now, after looking through all those pages of the MDR photos and menus. :) On our recent 15 day PC transit I had the shrimp sandwich no less than 5 times. It is open face and SOOOOOO good. DW had the steak sandwich several times. Also very yummy. Didn't seem to have enough time to try much else from the menu... :) Bob
puschi1906 Posted July 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2013 When you order room service - maybe a sandwich - do you tip and how much?
cathyz Posted July 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2013 When you order room service - maybe a sandwich - do you tip and how much? Yes, $2-3 depending on how much they had to carry.
puschi1906 Posted July 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Thank you! Another question that just came to my mind: If you don't order anything that will be charged (like alcohol), do you still have to sign a receipt and just add your tipp on it or do you tip in cash? I am trying to calculate how much cash we should exchange before the cruise :)

deborahjo Posted July 21, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2013 My Dh is called Two Buck Chuck because he always carries $2 bills for tips. Try the BLT. It is awesome. We come back on the ship order 2 BLTs, veggie sticks, chocolate cake and juce. Then we take showers and by the time we are done room service is there. Have fun. I am 81 days from my next BLT. Doug910 Posted July 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Thank you! I am trying to calculate how much cash we should exchange before the cruise :) ...When your order arrives, you'll have to sign the receipt, even if it is a $0 balance. Seems silly, but I guess someone needs proof of delivery. ...Obviously, how much to tip is a personal issue, but $2-$3 seems to be the norm, according to how much is ordered. ...We usually start with a pack of 50 singles and throw them in the top drawer of the dresser. We'll use them for room service, extra bartender/server tips and other situations. Additional dollars may be used for the luggage porters at the end of the trip. If there is still any dollar bills left, it's my coffee money for the week. Hope this helps...
puschi1906 Posted July 21, 2013 #12 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks to all. That helps a lot. If we have dollar bills left we just save them for our next trip to the US :)
Sargent_Schultz Posted July 21, 2013 #13 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks!I need to tell my bank to give me a lot of 1 $ bills :) The ship never runs out of money. ;) You can change larger bills into $1s at Guest Services (Purser) or the casino. Rosefloater Posted July 22, 2013 #14 Share Posted July 22, 2013 I like the Fajita wrap and the chocolate cake. Don't expect the hot food to be hot though. I have never had the Fajita wrap warm, let alone hot.

thekidsandi Posted July 22, 2013 #17 Share Posted July 22, 2013 You don't have to tip in cash. When you sign the $0 receipt, you can add a tip and have it charged to your sign & sail account.
