steak house first night question

Yes to both of your questions!

Free bottle of wine for eating first night in the steakhouse. The first night always tend to be a little more casual as guests are just getting the lay of the ship and dining attire tend to be a bit more relaxed. :)

Where is it stated that the steakhouse gives a free bottle of wine on the first night? It isn't mentioned on the steakhouse reservation form. Is it just one of those things people know? I sure hope it is true, as we have first night reservations.

It was almost empty on the first night when we went last cruise. They let u take the rest of your wine to go if not finished so we both had a full glass to go to the casino with. Plus if u are too full for dessert u can take that to your cabin for later also.

After reading about the free bottle here on CC, I emailed the steakhouse directly to ask and they confirmed that yes, there is a free bottle of wine.

Does anyone know if they have a more relaxed dress code on the first night?

It would appear that yes they do. I wore nice capris/blouse, but the table of loud drunks were all in shorts.

Perhaps the dress code varies a bit by ship for the first night. We had reservations for the steakhouse for the first night on our recent cruise on the Liberty. I asked the manager about the dress code prior to our dinner, and he said "No shorts and no flip flops." I'm surprised, CocoaMom, that guests were permitted to enter the steakhouse wearing shorts. Maybe the manager of your steakhouse was a bit more lenient. By the way, if anyone's interested, the Surf & Turf is excellent! I highly recommend it.
