Suite Perks

It was free in my CS on Eclipse March 2012. I seem to remember that after I booked they announced they were taking away the perk, but I was grandfathered.

The only free would be a small amount of time given via captains club...never unlimited and def. not in 2012, unlimited I mean...

We were on Silhouette in a CS for the TA earlier this month. We had Select dining and had a nice suite perk. There were two lines for Select dining--one for guest without reservation and for those with reservations AND Suite guests. Saved us a lot of waiting time since we rarely make reservations. I don't know if this is done on all sailings but it worked out well for us and was a nice surprise.

As for Blu, we ate there several times. They told us in advance that there would be a $5 pp gratuity. We did not have a problem being seated but that may have been because we tend to eat fairly late.

The butler will do just about anything for you. He fixed a button for me, shined my husband's shoes and offered to get our tour tickets for us, saving us a wait in the shore excursions line. Other posters have covered other butler services. We loved our butler (and tipped him accordingly)

Enjoy your CS!

Linda

Two free speciality dining visits (CS, etc. get one). They will try to pre-book you for the first night, change it to whatever you want. There is a suite help line in Miami who can pre-book stuff.

Wondering about the pre-booking of the free specialty restaurant visit for the first night. We definitely do NOT want to dine in the specialty restaurant the first night. I looked at the booking on the Celebrity web site and it does not show any specialty dining reservations (we are 2 weeks away from departure).

How long before the sailing do they do this?

Do they send an email confirming it or just a card in the room at embarkation?

What is the phone number of the Celebrity suite help line?

Thanks in advance.

L11- we are in a CS on the reflection in 3 weeks- do you have pictures you can post. I'm trying to decide if we can put the babies pack and play in the walk in closet in the bedroom? Or if it will for on the side of the bed. From some other videos, it looks pretty narrow along the bed. But I don't want it in the sitting room.

Just do a search for CS...Terry from Ohio posted amazing pics of the CS...

There's a separate area for suites (at least in Ft. Lauderdale). Once on board the ship, you can go to Michael's Club to wait until the rooms are ready. Small amounts of food and lots of champagne. We had a royal suite on that sailing. Don't know if it applies to all categories of suites.

It applies to Royal Suites, the Penthouses, Reflection Suites, and I presume the Signature Suites as well. We have twice sailed in a Royal Suite and were escorted (both times) to Michael's Club by the Captain's Club Hostess to wait for the rooms to be ready.

Just off the Constellation and I can tell you what to expect from the Butler-- NOTHING.

We had the Royal Suite. The room was wonderful but the perks were terrible as compared to Princess. Most things on the list were not provided. Example-the fruit basket was 3 apples on a plate. The flowers were fake . Tea in room was a bang on the door and handed a half cup of warm water and a tea bag. Much more but I thought those were funny.

Wanted to fill out a comment card but the one that was to be in the room was missing and the customer relation desk was "out of them".

The food was very good and good views all around the ship. The cruise itself was great .

We were on the Connie 12/19 sailing in a RS and had great butler service from Chip.

The flowers were a small arrangement on the coffee table the second day. As in it took me a while to notice them kind of small. Didn't realized those 3 apples were supposed to be a fruit basket. We had the butler bring us a fruit plates instead of the tea sandwiches. There was also a nice poinsettia in the living room. The butler also got the liquor changed out to red wine for us as we're not much of liquor drinkers.

We had no comment card survey to be found either which was too bad as we would have raved about the service we got from Chip and Moreno. We tipped both extra.

We were on the Century in October, and had a TERRIBLE butler. Any time we asked for any assistance we were told "I am new to Celebrity, and don't know". He was worthless. And yes, the "basket of fruit" was 3 apples on a plate.

That experience was our first and LAST on Celebrity.

C-Dragons. Were you escorted as you entered the ship? Mom and I are sailing out of San Diego in April, and I am not sure what to expect when we board. We have never sailed Celebrity, much less in a Royal Suite! Very excited!

Yes, the Captain's Club hostess was waiting for us on board at the gangway entrance. Enjoy... :)

I was in a suite on my last Transatlantic. The 1st time I met my Butler was on the 4th. Day After I told the other guests in suite about the incident without a butler for 3 days.:confused::confused:

That was the worst Butler experience I ever had.

We didn't get this when we boarded in Ft Lauderdale with a RS. Which ship were you on? Maybe it is an Elite perk?

Were you given a rose during shore side check-in?

The PH, RS and top cruiser are supposed to be given a rose. The rose signals them to escort you to the VIP lounge (normally Michaels Club) when you embark.

We have been the high cruiser many times with the rose and been completely ignored during embarkation:( Since we knew the drill we would search out the VIP lounge ourselves.

We are in RS for march and PH in July. I have been wondering about the extras as well, but can't seem to get a definitive answer, seems like most of the perks are discretionary to each individual cruise/itinerary. For our March (caribbean) trip, not too concerned about Internet, but in July (Alaska) we will be taking our daughters boyfriend along, and it would be nice for him to be able to keep in touch with his family(more importantly his mom - it's all about the moms!) I would love free laundry as well but that won't make or break our trip. On our first Alaskan cruise, with princess, we had the best butler ever in the GS. We booked the same suite for the Caribbean only because of how we were treated by Wei (really can't remember how to spell his name). Our butler on the Caribbean was non existent. We did however get free laundry and unlimited Internet as a regular perk on princess. What I would really love to ask for during our Alaskan cruise, since we have such a big balcony, would be to have the spa come and give us massages (traveling with my husbands family and my inlaws would love it!) on our own balcony. That would definitely be luxurious, but not sure it would be worth what they would probably charge us! I am really looking forward to our first cruise with celebrity!

The guaranteed perks are listed on Celebrity's website; the other perks are often afforded to the larger suites (especially Penthouse and Royal; sometimes Celebrity) but are at the discretion of the hotel director on any given voyage. There is a good chance you will receive Elite Captain's Club coupons while staying in the Royal and Penthouse Suites (so free bag of laundry per/person, 90 minutes of free internet, cocktail hour each evening etc.) but it is not a sure thing. Likewise good chance of VIP boarding perks (escort to special lounge with sparkling wine and food), invite to helipad for a sail-away party and invite for dinner at Captain's table one night - but also all not guaranteed. No way to know what (if any) extras will be granted until your cruise.

They both work the rear suites( one Port, one Star) eg PH,RS,SS on Connie and they are both great! My spouse got sick on a TA and Alfred was always offering to help with hot tea. Chip always brought my special cheese plate at the exact time every day. They are fabulous and VERY attentive. They are not mind readers so you have to ask. Furthermore they try to be sensitive to the level of "engagement" that is preferred by the guests but once both sides get into the rhythm everything works smoothly.
