just curious - I don't understand why people will pay to use to a hotel beach when the most beautiful beach on the island (Horseshoe Bay Beach) is a free public beach. Splain it to me, Lucy!

They want a beach that's not crowded with all those cruise ship passengers.:D

because we are going at the end of october and afraid that since 31 oct is the day beaches close for the season that there wont be any amenities..ie chair rentals/food/restrooms available......

Nothing wrong with relaxing at a nice place with even nicer amenities and a gorgeous beach and more of a resort feel that a bay full of fellow cruisers. Elbow offers a cabana package for those really wanting an easy day...:)

Because if you burn easily and need shade, it's nice not to have to dig the hole to bury the umbrella (hoping it's calm enough to use an umbrella).

Plus it's nice to be able to run undercover and have lunch while it rains.
