Just off the Dream 8/24 -9/1 saw 2 arguments that resulted in pushing and shoving. 1st in the upper level of the show over seating and the 2nd on the lido deck late at night. The Dream has some characters on it due to the low prices, I for 1 will look to cruise on anther line next. Just my 2cents dont beat me up been on 5 carnival cruises just dont like the Dream

Fights can happen anywhere on any ship ,any island ,any city. Just because a few people got into a little argument you ban a cruise line :)

I saw a fight on my very first Carnival cruise (which was also my first cruise) it was two guys just outside of the club at about 10:30 at night. Security broke them up and escorted both away.

It did freak me out at first. But we never had a problem after that. And I've never seen anything close to that happening on any other Carnival cruise since then.

I'll continue to cruise any line that has a price and destination that looks good to me :)

I see fighting every cruise - -usually between a husband and wife, two partners or parents and their kids. Heck, sometimes even kids and kids. Can't say they are throwing punches, but at that minute they are wasting valuable cruise time. :D

It should be noted that in 6 cruises, I am absolutely positive I have at one point or another argues with my dh and with my kids.....

In all seriousness, sure I have encountered a few less than pleasant people over the years, but for the most part people are very nice and friendly.

While visiting Paris with my wife and standing on a bridge over the river waiting for the Eiffel Tower to light up a taxi stopped and the driver and passenger proceeded to beat the tar out of each other while the wife stood there and cried, until three large Algerian looking men came and stopped it. Way to ruin my romantic moment. Conclusion, Paris is full of thugs and I'm never going back! :D

That's about the level of logic in some of these comments.

don't you think security took way to long to remove her? I wonder if they have a policy on how to handle this behavior.

Yes, security and Carnival staff took way to long to get this situation under control.

They got the first female out of the area right away, which is the way it should be. This second female, causing way to much of an issue, was not handled in the proper manner. She had the crowd to display her ignorance in front of and she let everyone that witnessed this display, that Carnival security is not a serious threat. This is never a good thing, as taking charge of any situation involving aggressive behavior has to be priority one in getting any disruptive situation under control.

This is a shame that it took over 8 minutes to drag this female out of the area. And to make matters worse, she pulled another Carnival staff into the pool by the neck and pulled him under the water. It took that incident to remove the female with force out of the area. Something that should have been done in the beginning with this female as she was very brazen with her actions.

Now, my two cents! I looked at the date of this cruise and the sailing was around spring break. Also, viewing the video, it really looked like a lot of very young adults on that cruise. This is by no means definitive, but here goes; Spring break, young adults and alcohol really don't mix. Although there is a potential for violence at any given time throughout one's day, being stuck on ship in the middle of nowhere with lots of alcohol free flowing, this risk of unwanted behavior is elevated and the potential of stupid behavior (i.e. watch this video) is increased 10 fold. (Just my two cents).

I've witnessed two fights on three Carnival Cruises. I posted about one here under a thread titled "Carnival Security Is A Joke". It was a man fighting with his wife down our hallway for what seemed like hours before anything was done. The second was in the MDR, a drunk woman was screaming at a woman and her adult son for reasons unknown. They never removed her, she eventually just left (to a thunderous applause). I'm cruising the Legend next month and I'll have my video recorder on standby.;)

Two thugs in their late 20's were roaming around the deck during the late night Mexican buffet. These guys had been harassing people earlier in the day. One of them walked up to a guy I'd met at several trivia games, said something really nasty trying to goad a fight. When the guy tried to back away the jerk slugged him and sauntered off. People rushed to help the guy who was hurt while others called security who escorted both of the jerks off. Never saw them again.

let me guess they were wearing their family reunion shirts

Out of my 25 cruises, I've seen 3 fights. All on Carnival. HOWEVER, they were all on short 4-nightser (packing a lot of party, lol), and they all involved couples/domestic type stuff. 2 were the, "don't talk to my man" type of deals, lol. That being said, security was there quickly in all instances to break it up.

Now, mind you, I've seen them all on Carnival, as 23 of my 25 cruises were with them, simply making the odds better for it to happen there ;)

These poor guys aren't cops and they were obviously trying to be as diplomatic and gentle as they possibly could. They're just security and not equipped to wrestle a bad drunk chick. They guy she pulled in the pool was no bigger than her.

Security is supposed to secure !! They should have a few lady security guards and take care of situations like this before they get out of hand and have the entire lido deck cheering this person on

Out of curiosity I typed "cruise fights" into the YouTube search engine and was presented with a litany of uploaded cell phone videos featuring brawls on cruise ships.

With only one exception the featured cruise line was always Carnival.

Are standards of behavior really that bad on Carnival these days, I'm about to book a last minute deal with them not having cruised with Carnival for 10 years and it's giving me reason to re-think.

Anyone have first hand experience compared to other cruise lines?

Never heard of any fights on the cruises i've taken. It happens with every cruise line...just that carnival cruisers...record it more than others...lol

Oh yeah! Our first fight is getting me out the house and in the car. Then I want to see everything, he wants to rest. I want formal night every night, he thinks it's over the top. He wants to lay out in the sun, I think that's insane. The things that draw you together as a couple can rip you apart come vacation time :D

If you wanted her dragged off in cuffs then blame Carnival for not adequately training and equipping security. It's not so easy to control some angry drunk chick hell bent on a fight without someone getting hurt.
