Long Beach port possibilities

We're in Long Beach port from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. DH says he wants to see Disneyland. We don't want to do a bus tour and just sit in a coach all day. Any suggestions?

Disneyland doesn't open until 9 or 10, depending on what day (weekday or weekend). You can check the disneyland website for the hours of the particular day that you are there. You could arrange for a cab or a rental car pickup at the port, also on your own. It is not that far to Anaheim, but traffic can sometimes be difficult, so allow 45 minutes to an hour to get over there. You can get Disneyland only tickets or park-hoppers if you also want to visit California Disney.

I agree with the poster above. At least allow 45 min to 1 hour both to and from Disneyland. The big summer rush is about over now, but it is still a busy place and you will have lines to wait in for the rides, it is a fun day , but a very full day . We live not far from the Magic Kingdom and when we go it is a Loooooog don't get home till near midnight day for us. So I hope you can still enjoy your time there even if it is somewhat short. Please allow yourself enough time to get back to the port , our freeways here can get really bad bumper to bumper traffic, and I wouldn't want to see you miss the ship. Enjoy your time in So. Cal.

Thank you so much for your helpful responses. After looking at costs and time, DH decided his day at Disneyland would have to wait, and he caved to doing a bus tour instead. It's a lot of money to spend the day watching our time while standing in lineups!

Please consider just spending the day in Long Beach and other port cities. If you rent a car and travel south you maybe amazed by what you might see.

I agree. Long beach is a lot of fun. You don't need a tour bus.

I agree , Long Beach right at the downtown marina area is nice, lots to see, including the Queen Mary, Aquarium (but it is pricey) restaurants, nice afternoon stroll. Enjoy

There is a free Passport bus that will take you all over Long Beach.

Catch it in the parking lot under the trees.

When you exit the Dome go right for about 100 yards.

The bus stop is in the middle of the parking lot. Look for the row of trees/bushes in the parking lot inf front of the Queen Mary.

I would not recommend Disneyland. Long wait for ever ride and over price. If you like Vietnamese food you can go to Garden Grove for lunch then Costa Mesa shopping mall. If you love Chinese food then you have to visit Monterrey Park. By far best Chinese food you find in the U.S.
