Quantun Cruise to Nowhere - what to do?

Go on that eye-ball looking thing over the ocean. I wonder how big it is and how big the line will be to get on it. I would hate to get on that ship and it is not big enough to accmadate the people that want to get on.

There is the sky flying thing too. Not sure how the line for that would be either? Maybe it will be like the flow-rider on the other ships.

I am sure with my son, he would be doing the bumper cars. Every kids will be at that spot.

Since the ship is docked in the northeast, maybe the pool will be heated, etc?

I would like to go on that trip too.

This ship will have indoor pools in addition to outdoor pools.

My husband and I are considering one of the the 2 or 3 day cruises to nowhere on Quantum of the Seas in November 2014. Given that it will not be pool weather, what will there be to do during the days?

Thanks!

Enjoy the ship!

Still would like a longer cruise if having to fly to port, but would not miss the opportunity to enjoy a cruise. I think the new ship will be neat with lots of fun stuff to do onboard. Lots of restaurants and entertainment for sure!

Pray. You'll have access to the indoor pool and adult solarium for your aquatic enjoyment. But the FlowRider will likely be closed due to cold weather, but if your lucky it'll be warm enough. I can't remember what temperature they said it would open at on my Transatlantic, but it was still freezing out when they opened! You'll have the shows, I'm sure they'll be running them in the afternoons to entertain everyone since they won't have enough time to do them all at night. The RipCord and North Star will likely be seen by few. From what they've said North Star will support 13 quests per 15 minute ride. If their is no down time between runs that's 46 guests per hour. Running 24 hours a day during the 2 night sailing they would have roughly 36 hours between passings of the Verrazano Bridge. That would only be 1,656 guests out of 4,000+. We know they have sunset and sunrise rides so most likely they'll actually only be operating for about 8-10 hours per day during a normal sailing. If we assume that 100% of the guest want to do North Star and she is only at double occupancy (4,180 guests), with 4 full runs per hour it would still take nearly 91 hours of operations. Even at 12 hours per day it would take more than a week to get everyone on it. If she's at max capacity everything gets worse. I'm hoping most won't want to try it though. Those booking a sampler are very unlikely to be in that group though.

The situation for RipCord is possibly even worse. It's not open for quick runs like the FlowRider, instead guests have to sign up ahead of time to be a part of a class and do 2 flights. I can't quite remember what the exact number of people per class was but it was a limited number per hour and in no way possible to get everyone through on a 2 or 3 day sailing.

I love the Quantum and have it booked for the Inaugural and 11 night sailings, but I really can't see how RCI expects the 2 & 3 night sailings to not end in disappointment and bad reviews.

Yeah, I think with such a limited time on board, there'll be enough to do. Its a brand new ship, brand new design, there will be so much to check out. Once they release the full deck plans, that'll make it easier to figure out what all there is to do, as well.

Like someone above said though, indoor pool (solarium?), casino?, check out all the restaurants and bars, I'm sure there will be shows going on too... there's always BINGO - all day/every day, right? ;)

or you could just get on and go crazy taking pictures of EVERYTHING, as all of us inquiring minds will want a full photo tour!

enjoy!

Have you seen the price?!:(

They were pretty good when they first opened up for booking. Now on the other hand a bit high!!

As for what to do I am sure they will have lots of activities planned to show off all the new features. I would love to do a longer cruise to try out the ship but decided to do the 3 night to just explore and be able to say I sailed on her. Of course I am only an hour away so easier to do that for some others.

WE booked the three day sampler while onboard Jewel of the Seas in late May, and got a great price for a D8 balcony (they were cheaper than insides or oceanviews at the time).

We will spend the time attending activities, checking out the ship, enjoying the entertainment, relaxing by the indoor pool or indoor lounge, eating, etc. Couldn't care less about the Flow Rider, Bumper Cars or Rip Cord, but the ship is about so much more than that.

Not worried at all about not having enough to do/see.
