Mystaken Posted September 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2013 What is the best way to book for 5 adults and 5 children? One adult (me) is D+ and one adult is qualified for a military discount.
coordinator23 Posted September 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2013 How about the family suite along with the connecting cabin next door? Total of at least 10 sleeping spaces. And 8 0f 10 would have concierge lounge/services

I would book you into the connecting room, since you already have CL privileges with Diamond + along with youngest kid(s) since no one will check their sea pass anyways for the reserved seats for the ice show, etc. Makes it easier to plan that way. You can sleep anyway you want once you're on the trip. Keep the connecting door open. Also FS balcony is amazing. We had 4 loungers and one large table with 4 chairs. Order room service or zip up to the windjammer and bring back food. Works well with kids in the morning for breakfast (and you can always grab a chair out of the room for the 5th kid. We did a trip with 8 split between the two rooms. Worked out great. (FS also has two full bathrooms -- one with a tub for little kids) You can also order off of the MDR menu in a FS, so if the kids are acting up or you're just tired, you can enjoy a great meal out on the balcony (or patio, as we call it on an aft cabin) 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa offer some privacy between the two cabins. maureencruiser Posted September 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2013 But, if the adults are from different states, look for residency discounts as well...
Jimnbigd Posted September 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2013 First, what do you mean by "best"? Do you mean cheapest? Or most comfortable? Or what? Do you have to have a balcony? Are inside (interior) cabins OK? Second, what is the relationship between the adults? Are some married? Does the 5th adult mind sharing a cabin with the other adults or kids? Third, what is the relationship of the children to the adults? If all 5 are from just 2 of the adults, that is different than if, say, 2 kids are from one couple and 3 are from another. Fourth, what ship? That makes a difference in your options. If one of the adults is age 55 or overs, check for discounts in that persons cabin, because some cruises have an "age 55" discount. Also, usually (but not always) the 3rd and 4th person in a cabin pays less. Note that kids are charged the same price as adults -- even babies. BTW -- What age are the kids?
