jeanico Posted September 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2013 Hello! Haven't cruised on Princess in quite a while, and I was wondering whether there is such a thing as an adult passenger talent show on board (we will be cruising on the Royal Princess). If yes, when/where are sign-ups usually held? Thank you! Nicole
Loonbeam Posted September 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2013 It's up to the cruise director in question. There will usually be an announcement at the first nights show and in the patter if there is one. Sometimes they do a passenger choir as well. Hello! If yes, when/where are sign-ups usually held? Thank you! Nicole Passenger talent shows run hot and cold; sometimes there are; most times there aren't. This is not for the Royal, but for all ships. We're getting on the Royal next week. Will let you know if an announcement is made in the Patter. What is always bad about these "shows", is that they hold them at the very last minute when people are packing; at the end of the cruise. Either during dinner, just before dinner or very late after the final show. I've been in a few in the past; don't bother any more.
skynight Posted September 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2013 On 7 day voyages they usually do not have one, the schedule is very tight, but you never know. Go prepared with your music, or CD or whatever you might use. You have to watch the Princess Patter each day for the sign ups. If they do have one there are usually a limited number of spots available to fill on a first come first serve basis. The only live back up music Princess will provide is a piano player. If you are going to tell jokes they will want to review what you will say. As an alternative they might run The Princess Pop Choir and/or Princess Pop Star, a karaoke competition. There will be open karaoke.
