Egg crate toppers

I was just on the Pride in August...mattress was a bit too firm for me -- mentioned this to the room attendant and the topper was on my bed later that evening! You should be able to get one...:)

We have asked for toppers a number of times, depending on the mattress, they sometimes help a lot, sometimes a little.

First thing we do on every cruise is ask the room attendant for an egg crate. No reason not to if you aren't a fan of firm beds. No matter the mattress, it will make it more comfortable

Guess we've been lucky ... but have always found our bed comfy without a topper on Carnival ships.

Every time I have requested one from the steward I have been told they were all out. The steward offered to put a comforter on the mattress as a pad and then remade the bed. It helped do the trick on one 8 day cruise when the mattress was as hard as a marble slab.

I have never asked on a Carnival cruise, but did on Royal Caribbean cruise once.

HAL and Princess has decent beds, Carnival not so much. We buy a new EggCrate topper pad when they are on sale cheap. Pack it in an extra bag/duffel, you can use it to bring home souvenirs. Your steward will put the nice clean new pad on the bed. Just leave it when you leave, it was cheap and on sale anyhow.

I brought my own on my last cruise, we stopped at Target the day we flew in and had it for the next day...I'm happy I did.
