What can you bring on board?

We are new to RCI and not sure what you can bring on board in terms of wine or soda. Carnival lets you bring a bottle of wine per person plus a 12 pack of soda...is RCI similar?

Royal's policy is no beverages except for the two bottles of wine mentioned above. However, that policy is usually not enforced for water and soda. They seem to enforce it more around spring break,

On our last RCI cruise on the Freedom, we met a couple from New York. They were able to bring on vodka using a rumrunner bag, supposedly it's x-ray proof, and she hid it in a shoe...

Whatever, We booked today for the Freedom again, and with an on board credit from the T/A of $150, combined with a credit from Crown & Anchor of $125 as well as our RCI Visa points, we already have almost $600 in stateroom credits.

If you stay loyal to 1 line, and enroll ina loyalty program, eventually it pays off.RCI offers a VISA with 10,000 points for signing up ($100 cash) value and you earn 1 point per dollar spent, double when you spend with RCI.

Eventually, if you stay with one cruise line, you actually save money by cruising.

What does any of this have to do with the OP questions ?

Not so true. Other credit cards such as Capital One give you 2 points for each $100 spent as opposed to the 1 point RCI gives. With that return you can surpass the TA and other OBC offers real fast. In addition the points can be used on any cruise for any purpose with NO limitations or any other travel for that matter. The RCI points are so restrictive that there is a thread with over 500 posts here on CC with everyone trying to figure out when where how and if they can use their RCI points.
