fortinweb Posted September 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2013 We're thinking of a cruise on Infinity next year. Looking over the deck plans, many of the concierge class staterooms are on deck 8. These supposedly have 191 sq feet of space and a 41 sq foot balcony - 8063 on the deck plans below is an example. However, directly below on deck 7 are standard rooms with only 170 sq feet of space with a 38 sq foot balcony - 7103 is an example that is directly under 8063. Both decks have a row of inside cabins of 170 sq feet between the two rows of balcony staterooms. All staterooms are the same width, which is obvious since the balconies on both decks are the same width. So, how can the staterooms on deck 8 be 21 sq feet larger with a slightly larger balcony than the staterooms on deck 7 when the staterooms on both decks are the same width, the exterior walls on both decks are even, AND the inside staterooms in the middle row are the same size and width? What am I missing?
varoo Posted September 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Although the deck plan you have posted here can easily give the impression that "the exterior walls on both decks are even" in fact that section of deck 8 is actually a little wider than the corresponding section of deck 7, providing space for the bigger cabins and/or balconies. Deck plans are often not drawn to scale. It is easier to notice the differences from an exterior view of the ship itself. Below is a photo someone previously posted that shows how the decks do not all align. Especially looking at the left side of the photo, it is easy to see how the balconies in this section of deck 8 (second row down from top of photo) protrude outward further than those of deck 7. elena7seas Posted September 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I was always under the impression that only the Concierge Class cabins on Deck 9 were the larger cabins (191 square feet, and 41 square foot balconies). Perhaps someone else can add some information about this.
grayjay Posted September 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Concierge staterooms on decks 8 and 9 and Aqua Class staterooms on decks 9 and 11 are bigger in comparison to the regular balcony cabins.

Thanks! I never noticed that before. All the photos I looked at appeared to have the outside walls even. Your photo clearly shows the difference. Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted September 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Concierge staterooms on decks 8 and 9 and Aqua Class staterooms on decks 9 and 11 are bigger in comparison to the regular balcony cabins. On the M class ships, ALL concierge class cabins are larger than regular balcony cabins, regardless of where they are located. There are CC cabins on decks 6 and 7 as well. And, of course, the C1 cabins have even larger balconies than the other CC cabins.
