Seattle Airport Connecting Flights

I am looking at return flights from Anchorage, AK to New York (preferably EWR). Is a 1 hr. 10 min. connection time long enough in the Seattle airport to switch planes if both are United flights? If not, is 2 hours ok? I assume the luggage can be checked through so we won't have to worry about collecting it and rechecking it. Thank you for any insights!

What time of year? If not in the summer, I'd go for the 2 hour connection if it's not more expensive or otherwise a burden.

Yes, I am talking about the summer! We're planning to return from Alaska in the middle of August and this seemed to be the cheapest option with halfway decent times. Does the time of year make a difference? Thank you!
