Just got off the magic yesterday. Some thoughts and observations....

First off, I had a lot of fun. 2nd time on the magic

The good:

FTTF. The BEST $50 spent on a cruise period. Got to the port at 11:15am unloaded parked walked back to terminal and zipped through the lines and on board by 11:45am. Our room wasn't ready like it was supposed to be but the steward gave us a bottle of wine after we called to complain about it. Loved the different line for guest services and priority debarkation at ports.

Room service. Love the rueben, fajita wrap, pb&j, cookies and cake.

Those that said that the crew would dote all over my 1 yr old were right. It was amazing to see so many crew members just go completely out of their way for him and just to see and talk and play with him. One waiter in the MDR who we saw a few times, went as far as to cut up his food and feed him on two different nights and our waitress at cucina picked him up and carried him around for about 5 minutes while she checked on other tables and did her rounds. Other crew members would just remember his name and would come up to us anywhere on the boat and play with him, even had one hostess from the MDR play with him in Belize. It was awesome.

Nachi Cocom was great! There was hardly anyone there so it wads nice and calm and the drinks were flowing. Food was good but I don't know if I'd eat there again, more on that later.

Cucina del Capitano. Great food and lunch is free!

Red frog. We had several of the 101oz thirsty frog red beers. Yummy! My hose fried peas are great too. The staff was amazing.

Power hour cocktail party, someone from our FB group arranged one of these. Best value ever!

The bad:

Our steward could have been a lot better and attentive. He wasn't bad bad but we have had much better and he just left a lot to be desired. We paid for FTTF and when we got on board our room was filthy. It hadn't been cleaned yet and he told us to come back later. When it was ready, our room was supposed to have a crib, no crib. We called about that he said he'd have it right away. We left for a sail away party and when we came back several hours later, still no crib. We called and he said he would have it after dinner so we asked him to open mini bar icebox thing and he came by and opened the bunk bed. We had to ask him a second time to open the fridge. He also took forever to clean and never vacuumed until we asked. His schedule was odd to me, something like 9am to 12:30pm then off till 5:30 and back on from 5:30 to 9pm. I don't ever remember it being like that. Is that new?

Food. With the exception of the Mongolian grill, cucina and lobster in the MDR, the food was mostly terrible.

Kids. Some if the kids were just crazy in the pool. One evening security had to ask about 6 of them several times, I'm taking 5-6 times to stop running and jumping in. As soon as security left they started again. Other employees told them to stop running and jumping, to no avail. They would also run over to the ice cream station and pizza station, get ice cream or pizza and get back into the pool while eating it. One night we were waiting for an elevator on 10 and two kids 12-13 yrs old come in from the aft pool area, a little wet but not too bad, and all the sudden all the liquid comes pouring out of the kid. He was peeing right there next to the elevator! It was appalling.

Belize and Mohogany Bay. Throw away ports as far as I'm concerned.

After Cozumel my daughter was throwing up and could not keep anything down. Had to visit the infermary at 3am. She was getting dehydrated and had a fever. The next night we all were sick with chills, fevers, body aches and vomiting. Noro?

If they still do them IIRC, you had to have more than 20 people and it was like $20 a piece for unlimited drinks for one hour. We had a ton of members on a fb group that went. You have to set it up through carnival. It was at club vibe on the second day. Pretty awesome.

The flu is very much in full swing all over the U.S. She might have caught it even before getting on the ship
