Can you combine Latitude, Suite and Deposit?

You CAN use the certificate for your deposit, however be prepared to pay extra if you are booking a haven level suite.

You can NOT combine the two OBC offers, therefore it is very important that you use the promo code SUITEOBC when completing the booking, so that you receive the $300. ;)

the latitude offer for obc IS combinable with suite obc promo, and u can also use your future cruise reward, as long as the sailing is over 6 days...

Just how is it that two people can be so positive that their answer is correct and the opposite of somebody else's answer?

How is the OP supposed to make an informed decision when they are given two completely opposite answers?

I booked a cruise last week and was told by my PCC they were not combinable. Needless to say I took the $300 OBC.

I normally only book online, but I think with the deposit you have to call to speak to someone. I guess I will find out then. BTW I am looking to book for Alaska for a 7 day for next September, so it will be over the 6 days and more than 9 months out.

Twice this year NCL has refused to combine Latitudes OBC with suite OBC. In the past suites that were not Haven required only the regular deposit. Now NCL tells me all suites must pay $1500 deposit.

That may be true, but the OP was asking about the Latitudes Insider Offer that comes with an OBC (Promo Code:LATITUDE) and not the Latitudes OBC (Promo Code:LATOBC)...each of these has their own terms and conditions as well as restrictions on combinability with other offers.

I booked my non-Haven suite last week just using my FCC.

I hope you're getting misinformation. No way will I plunk down $1500 for a regular aft PH. :(

Your right about the Latitudes OBC, I may have the two confused!:o

I did spend about an hour on the phone yesterday (Saturday) with NCL and when I was ready to commit they said $1500 deposit for a Penthouse! I stopped the booking and I'll call back today and see what I get. I'll post again.

Here is the page from NCL's website that covers required deposit amounts. It might be handy to have it when you make that call.

I can't speak to the combinability of the OBC for those two offers, but I do know from experience that you still want to make sure that the Lattitudes Insider offer code is on your ressie with any other eligible offer codes, because you still will get the extra Lattitude point per night even when they don't let you have the OBC part of the Insider offer.

We spoke to the cruise consultant when we were purchasing the cruise certificate and he said that the $250 would cover a deposit for a suite, but if it was a Haven suite an additional $750 would be required.

Doesn't applin this case. If you get the Latitudes Insider Offer, you get the OBC and the extra point. They can't split up the promotion and just give you one or the other.

When we booked our upcoming cruise (more than 9 months ago), I was able to use one deposit voucher for the suite and then we received a combined OBC (for the haven & latitudes) from NCL = $425. We also got an additional OBC from out TA. In reference to the deposit, it was only $250 pp....so, $500.

Hope it works out for you.

It was split for us on our February Sun cruise. I could not have the Lattitude Insider Offer OBC because it was not able to combine with the AARP discount, but we did get the Lattitude Insider Offer extra point per night at the end of the cruise.

I will say that I don't think all NCL reps know how to do this, but ours figured it out with a call to a supervisor while I was on hold during the booking. I then sent an e-mail to the Lattitude's department to verify the extra point per night prior to our sailing and they did so in writing. The correct points showed up about four days after our sailing. I do remember the rep saying that the Lattitude Insider Offer code must appear in your booking promos with any other discount codes to get the extra points. I think they then manually back off the OBC somehow.

You understand that without validation any alleged exception to policy is simply heresay. Knowing the policies in place, without verification, I have no choice but to remain skeptical of this claim. What is "allowed" doesn't typically require supervisory intervention and manual adjustments.

Believe what you please, but do you have a link that states NCL's Lattitude Insider Offer OBC and the Lattitude Insider Offer extra points per night can not be split per policy?

The only think I did below was delete my last name, the responder's name, and eliminate some unnecessary spaces that NCL puts in their automated e-mails.

The Supervisory intervention was simply the rep not having done it before, she was the one who told me I couldn't get the OBC, but would still get the points.

I was told at booking that the May 2012 Latitudes Insider offer OBC was not combinable with AARP, so that's why my account doesn't show the $50 OBC, but the bonus points still applied. This was confirmed by the NCL rep before I booked. She put me on hold and spoke to someone in the Latitudes department before I booked this cruise with her. I am just trying to get this in writing so in February, 2013, which is months away, I don't have any problems.

Please confirm this. Thank you,

-Mrs. J

NCL's reply:

Yes you will receive the points at the end of your cruise.

Thanks for typing up what looks like a formatted email. However, as before, I'm still going to be skeptical without positive verification that what you claim is normal procedure. Assuming of course, that my reservations meet with your approval.

If you'd like to know why I tend to be skeptical of claims that people make on websites you don't have to go much further than this very thread. Go back and read posts #2 and #4. There are two people, each very confident in their answer, who are giving 100% opposite answers. Obviously, they both can't be right. I have no reason to disbelieve either one on them...or you for that matter...but without verifcation, I have to remain cautious of what I accept as fact. Trust me, "But so-and-so on Cruise Critic said.." will never get you anywhere.

As for NCL policy, the Terms and Conditions for each offer are well publicized. You can easily see for yourself what can and what can not be combined with each particular offer. You are free to verify this for yourself...or you can remain skeptical.

  • 4 weeks later...

Yesterday I spoke to NCL about booking back to back cruises on the Dawn next fall in a suite. She informed me that I could have the $300 per cruise for booking 9 months in advance, but only if they separated the reservation. If I book it as a B2B, I could only have $300 total. She also said this wasn't combinable with any other offer; the $300 was the most I could get per cruise. In addition, she told me it was $1500 deposit for each cruise, even though I have 2 rewards certificates. I would have to pay $1250 each out of pocket. Ouch.
