CruznRagtop Posted October 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Does anyone reading this post know what the story is that on HAL's website a guest can only book a "gurantee," not select from available cabins listed by cabin number? This is true, as of this evening, for any category I'm selecting..... Thank you in advance for enlightening me!
Rare Alphen Posted October 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Does anyone reading this post know what the story is that on HAL's website a guest can only book a "gurantee," not select from available cabins listed by cabin number? This is true, as of this evening, for any category I'm selecting..... Thank you in advance for enlightening me! Since Rotterdam sails primarily from Holland, I know that the larger Dutch specialized cruise TA’s have large blocks of cabins on Rotterdam. Maybe they have first pick and have not yet done that, since 2015 is quite far out. It could also be the case that because this is the far East cruise, that there will be cabins divided between the whole voyage and segments, but again, not so far out? jtl513 Posted October 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2013 If this is a Grand Voyage, you can only select a cabin if you book the entire cruise, and all segment bookings are GTY only.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2013 We ran into the same problem for a Collectors Cruise for 2014 for the Caribbean. All cabin categories were marked as guarantees. Our TA got hold of a supervisor and got us the cabin that we wanted. I have no idea why it was listed that way for about 3 months. BlueLadyBlue Posted October 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Phone HAL. We booked our jan 2014 in July 2012 and couldn't book the cabin we wanted so I called HAL and the PCC we were assigned booked it for us.:)
OlsSalt Posted October 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Some Dutch people told us on the Grand Voyage Rotterdam cruise last year they as a group of people hate to fly, so when a ship comes and goes to their home port of Rotterdam, they grab places on it in very large numbers. Good marketing and as a consequence, you will find this to be a bi-lingual cruise in announcements and programing. Be prepared.
KirkNC Posted October 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Its the same for our 201 Maasdam cruise. I assumed it might have something to do with the fact it was so far out.
