hpecorari Posted March 12, 2014 Author #26 Share Posted March 12, 2014 (edited) Well I was onboard the Dawn for my birthday last November and told the casino host it was my birthday during the cruise and all I received was a CAS tote(which was given to all the participants of the Slot Pull). I was HOT at the time; did not receive anything else.Another passenger I was speaking to said the birthday offer does not apply if you booked with CAS and received a comp room(which is what I had). That's incorrect. I was on the Sun in October and my birthday was during the cruise. I, also, was comped through CAS and I was VIP. I received a bathrobe. catlady461 Posted March 12, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Well I guess it was because you were VIP or maybe it depends on the casino host. I did receive a cupcake with Happy Birthday from the hotel director.

There's a difference between what the ship gives you and what CAS gives you. http://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/casinos-at-sea/players-club See special birthday offer in the link above. Each tier gets something....what, I guess, depends on your level. Harriet

Can you perhaps help clear one of them up for me. I know the earning period for tier status runs 4/1 - 3/31 each year. But how long do you hold that tier level for.... is is from 4/1 - 3/31 the following year (12 months) or from 4/1 - 9/30 (18 months). When I read it I interpret it both ways:confused: Thanks

You stay that level for the remainder of that year until 3/31/15 PLUS the whole next year until 3/31/16. (it carries you almost 2 years) If you level up 3/1/14 you remain at that level until 3/31/15 since the closeout date is 3/31/14 (and carries you for 1 year). Casino Comp Chick Posted March 13, 2014 #32 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Does anyone know what exactly the "VIP ROYAL TREATMENT" entails?? Yes you get to wait in the VIP Suite area for boarding, you get breakfast & lunch at Cagney's (You do NOT get that on Breakaway class ships as you do not get access to Haven dining unless you are staying in the Haven). You also get priority seating, tenders, etc as well as use of the concierge services.
whenisthemidnightbuffet? Posted March 13, 2014 #33 Share Posted March 13, 2014 I spoke to a CAS rep specifically about the VIP treatment for Golden tier, and specifically about the BA, a couple of weeks ago, and Jimme is correct with the above info, however the rep told me they will be making changes to the program April 1st. Unfortunately he was not able to reveal these changes since he said he did not know what they will be! I asked if they were going to be published April 1st and if I could find the info on NCL's website next month and he said yes, except I have a tendency to not believe everything a rep tells me (have learned from not only these boards but first hand experience they do not all fully understand or know the answers to everything) and am patiently waiting for April to discover what these changes will be. If anyone has any inside info about some of the changes would love to hear it. Thanks. PS - Thanks Jimme for your respose to my ? above.

Hope that answers your question This is what I thought, but after my last cruise, I'm a little confused. My first NCL cruise was the 10-night Sun sailing - sailed on 31 March 2013 and I stayed at 'Lucky' level after earning around 4300 points. Next cruise on the Dawn was comped by CAS and sailed mid-Dec 2013 - I leveled up to Hot, earning about 3800 points (I think). I asked the host about the free dinner etc and was told that had to be on the cruise AFTER leveling up, and unless I sailed before April 2014, I would revert to Lucky. But reading what you typed above, it should be April 2015, yes? Oy. My head hurts. :o
CasinoCruzGirl Posted March 13, 2014 #35 Share Posted March 13, 2014 All seems very confusing. March 23 will be my first sailing on NCL. I received a comp cruise from the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City my sail date is the end of March so how does that affect me will I have to start over April 1 since I get off the ship March 30th? johnsak123 Posted March 13, 2014 #37 Share Posted March 13, 2014 One thing I love about CAS is there is never any consistency in what they do If you sail and its your birthday you should get the same gift depending on your level of play It is the same when CAS does their pricing for your cabin No rhyme or reason to it. I see nothing wrong with giving a different gift for higher level players. Just another perk. The alternative is no gift for anyone I suppose. They surely should not give out a gift that costs $40 for example to someone that drops $20 per cruise. Bad business. Right?
8675309Jenny Posted March 13, 2014 #39 Share Posted March 13, 2014 reading about comped cruises here which leads me to another question (that may well be redundant). from what i am reading you can get a cruise comped by either a land based casino (caesers total rewards etc) or the cas program. is this correct? as far as the cas comped cruises go, do hey comp you a different level cabin based on your play? Comped cruises can and do come from land based casinos...not must Caesars total rewards casinos. They usually comp an inside cabin or a balcony with the land based cruise vouchers. Anyone with TR can call CAS and get a discount on a room - the discount would depend on what your TR tier is with the casino. CAS comped cruises from CAS would depend on the play that you did on your previous cruise. So, if you had a cruise in September and now want to book another cruise they would look up your play on that September cruise. Depending on the play they would decide what type of room to comp you. It could be an inside all the way up to a suite. Harriet
