Edisoncruiser Posted November 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2013 This was our first cruise ever , so do not have anything to compare against. booked the cruise 3 weeks before sailing and we went in with no expectations . I must say that all of us ( me ,DW and boys 11 and 7 ) had a blast. The food, wait staff ,room steward were amazing. The entertainment could get repetitive but the kids did not mind that . We had to skip Nassau due to choppy waters and ended up getting a extra fun day at Sea. we were worried about the 8 day itinerary this being our first cruise .But am glad that we did not go on a shorter cruise . there was so much to do on the splendor .And so many food choices!! thought the mongolian wok was over rated .had it just once after having to wait an hour in the queue. The indian food at Tandoor is AMAZING. Ended up having that every day . Loved the Pizza as well . MDR food was good and wait staff (Goran ,Charlie) did a great job.the kids would look forward to the sit down dinner in the MDR and meet Goran and team. we did Kennedy Space center at Cape Canveral and at Freeport went to Paradise Cove .Would highly recommend Paradise Cove ( this was not through Carnival Shore excursion ). will definitely go with Carnival again !! Mapleleafsno_1 Posted November 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2013 Sounds like a fun ship! :) You said you did paradise cove at Freeport as a non ship-sponsored excursion. How did you find it? What did it cost? How did you get there? How far was it? Any other thoughts?...
Edisoncruiser Posted November 11, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted November 11, 2013 this being a very last minute cruise we had nothing planned for Freeport.WE had decided that once we got off we would either do a island tour or rent a cab and go to Lucaya market.Once we got off we saw a lady holding a sign for Paradise Cove tours .She was standing next to the Carnival Paradise tour person. So we deccided to go with her.She gave us a rate of $35 for Adult and $ 20 for 12 and under. This included round trip travel and the snorkeling gear. The ride to paradise cove is about 20 minutes . Paradise Cove is very beautiful with calm waters and nice food . We were late getting off the ship( about 10.00) would recommend to get off earlier. Nathan the bus driver was very informative and made sure we arrived back at the port with an hour to spare.
