Flying in from Buffalo, NY on the Friday before our Saturday departure in January. Any suggestions on where to stay? We will be traveling with a group so would love a place that is within walking distance to restaurants/stores and possibly shuttle service as we will not have a car.

Thanks so much!:)

What cruise line? One of them has a hotel package at a nice, well-placed downtown hotel that's a good price and includes shuttle.

Princess on the Caribbean Princess.

Thanks!

Oh good.

You should (if you use a travel agent, your TA should) call Princess for the details of their package at the Four Seasons.

There are lots of hotels in the area but it's the transportation that will drain your wallet. I think the FS package is 240 or 270 (depending on which airport) for two people, Princess transportation included.

Lots of entertainment and dining a short taxi ride away. I would use this even though I live driving distance from the port. (Since parking runs $75/week at the port)

The Comfort Suites Seabrook has confirmed they have a free cruise shuttle (or anything else within 10 miles) but not a free airport shuttle.

Areas to search for more hotels would not be "Houston" per se, but Seabrook, Webster, Clear Lake and La Porte.

A fabulous place to stay near either of the ports is Kemah.

I don't know if there is any shuttle service directly available, but the Kemah Boardwalk is an awesome place to visit for entertainment, shopping, and restaurants. From either IAH or HOU, Super Shuttle or taxis are easy choices. (Also nearby nearby is the Johnson Space Center).

Usually pretty good deals in Medical Center area.

Great weekend rates in the Med Center but not sure how much shuttle would be.

We stay there prior to some of the MD Anderson visits

Interesting point, hadn't considered Med Center...

Yellow Cab's Fare Estimator computes $78.16 fare from the Medical Center to the Bayport Cruise Terminal.

For comparison, it computes ~30.00 from the Hilton at NASA

~20.00 from La Porte

That's to much for Taxi to save a few bucks on a hotel

Maybe the Holiday inn Kemah

It is a few blocks from the Boardwalk?

Use super shuttle from airport
