Room Service Dishes Outside of Room? Cool or not?

Is it still inconsiderate if placing the trays in the hallway is what we were instructed to do by the room service staff? Or should we disregard their instructions?

Oddly enough, we have never been instructed to do this by room service staff on a ship. But to answer your question, common courtesy and common sense would indicate that yes, for the reasons that I stated in my post, it would still be inconsiderate.

I have never been instructed to leave them in the halls, but have been instructed by information in the binder in each room to call the attendant for removal and to not leave then there. What cruise line were you on when told to? And who told you to?
